"This Conifer O’Reilly’s is my local store, and I want to support these guys. But it’s hard to justify it when you’re just flat out ignored as a customer. I used to work retail, and I know how difficult it can be these days when everyone is short staffed. But it’s pretty inexcusable for me to stand at the counter for over five minutes without even being acknowledged, despite being the only customer in the store while several employees can be heard talking in the back. Another employee eventually came in the store with a customer, obviously helping them with something. That’s great and totally understandable! However, just say something to me like “Hey, sorry you’re waiting I’m just finishing up with this person”. At least something so it doesn’t feel like I’m being blatantly ignored. The final straw for me was when the several employees in the back came out and continued standing around talking, while I continued standing at the counter being ignored. All I wanted to do was pay for the stuff in my hand! Instead, I walked back to the aisle, re-shelved the products I was going to buy, and drove down to the new Advance Auto Parts down the street. They were much more helpful, and I will be shopping there from now on."
