"So my review beginnings about 3 years ago.. I was seeing someone over video calls for meds and therapy.. I canceled an appointment because I was pregnant and not feeling the greatest that morning and asked to reschedule she messaged back and said she would reach out to reschedule but never did I called about 2 times and was told to be patient and she would reschedule with me shortly and she never did. So I let it go and never tried again because I felt defeated by my efforts and the lack of contact. So this year I decided I would give therapy a try again and was seen a total of 3-4 times.. I again cancelled an appointment due to illness and asked if we could reschedule they told me they would call me back when they had a second to talk to the therapist I was seeing about her schedule. A week went by and I realized I hadn’t received a phone call. I called them they said that her schedule had changed so they again would have to call me back… now fast forward to three weeks since I canceled my appointment I call again they tell me again that they have to wait for her and that they don’t remember telling me they were going to call me.. about a month and two weeks out I call them again and they tell me the same thing.. so at this point I have been abandoned in therapy by yss 2 times and do not recommend them to anyone and this was over a 3 year period"

"The good. YSS did get an appointment scheduled within 3 weeks of my initial call, which seemed good (and they had therapists with openings). This location does work with kids and seems ok working with them. We went cognitive behavior therapy for anxiety b/c they work with kids and teach family to help. After waiting two weeks to start, our assessment took three sessions. 5 weeks with no treatment. Our therapist didn't show to an early appointment with no notification or apology, we don't have virtual links 50% of the time when our sessions start, and you are limited to booking appointments to two at a time (update: they have now allowed me to book further in advance as the last-minute schedules were interfering with my work). So I am constantly trying to call and make appointment and nagging them just to get on the calendar and getting that done does not mean I will be given a link. The last time they scheduled us after I left a message, and they didn't tell me when we were scheduled (they switched it from our normal day/time). This may be true with all therapy but after the preliminary activity/assessment--which they did not share with our doc when we needed it for our appointment despite early return of paperwork--they are now bonding. After a response to my previous review, I have updated this to 3 stars. The supervisor called me and did listen to my frustration and concerns. I can now schedule several appointments at once and the links are also sent all at once. The sessions now include half the time bonding and half working toward helping her gauge how she is feeling on a particular day. I hope we start to address the anxiety soon."

"Family Life Center (YSS) has been a place to start the healing process for our family. At first, I was reluctant and scared to go to get the help we needed for our family, but I knew something needed to be done. On day 1, starting from the front desk staff all the way to the nurse's and counselors, I didn't feel judged or looked down upon because I was there with my kids. I was at rock bottom. I could feel kindness, gentleness and hope from the staff. I still feel that genuineness still today. The front desk staff answered questions, work with my schedule and call to remind me of my appointment (huge help with multiple kids with different schedules). The counselor listens and gives tools/ advice that the kids and I have started using. The hard work at home with the tools given has been a positive growth. Now, I see YSS as a place that I can count on. A place to run to for parenting help, guidance, support. A place my kids look forward to seeing people who care about them, their thoughts/ feelings and listen. Family Life Center's staff is a place that I can truly say is changing our lives for a better tomorrow."
