About the Business

DMOS Urgent Injury Clinic Ankeny

DMOS Urgent Injury Clinic in Ankeny, Iowa is a healthcare institution dedicated to providing immediate care for unexpected bone or joint injuries. Our team of healthcare providers, including Maddie, Kara, Emily, and Charlie Graham, are committed to listening to patients' concerns and providing effective treatments to help them return to their everyday routines. Our clinic offers walk-in access for orthopedic injuries such as sports injuries, fractures, and sprains. We also offer joint and soft tissue injections, including cortisone shots, to help relieve pain and inflammation.

We differentiate between urgent care and emergency rooms based on the severity of the health problem, with urgent care being more convenient and affordable for minor illnesses or injuries. Our clinic accepts most insurances, but we recommend confirming with your carrier. We are open Monday to Thursday from 10 am to 6 pm, Friday from 10 am to 5 pm, and Saturday from 8 am to 12 pm. Patient registration and check-in are located on the second floor of the clinic.

In addition to our Ankeny location, we also have Urgent Care clinics in West Des Moines and Des Moines. Our services include durable medical equipment, foot and ankle care, hand therapy, MRI imaging, outpatient surgery, physical therapy, sports medicine, and more. We also offer a patient portal for requesting medical records and scheduling appointments with specialists. Please note that all DMOS locations are closed today due to winter weather, but surgery centers remain open for patients who can arrive safely. Thank you for understanding and we appreciate your patience.

"Exceptionally pleased with care received at Ankeny DMOS Urgent Care yesterday morning. Started with the welcoming reception during the registration process. Tablet used to confirm and edit details worked well. Attendant who gathered details and took X-rays provided clear direction. The assigned PA appeared promptly and completed an evaluation, offered a probable diagnosis and recommended a treatment plan."

"Absolute waste of time. Didn't remove the brace we came in with, didn’t touch or look at the injury. What we did here today could have been done over the phone, despite urgent care recommending we be seen by an orthopedic specialist. Recommend physical therapy and have a great day."

"About an hour wait time, not bad for urgent care. They will bill you up front and then send an additional bill days later in the mail. The bill will be vague and it will be impossible to tell what they're charging you for. Care is expensive but thats the norm. If you need to communicate anything to the doctor by phone they will "relay that to them and have them call you back" and then you will never get a call back. The doctors are friendly, the reception is not as much. All in all if you had to choose between DMOS and mercy, i would probably go here. Also, if you think you might need it, they have specialty equipment like CT and MRI here which you probably wont find at other smaller urgent care clinics."

"My first experience at Ankeny DMOS was great! Everyone was very nice, and having no appointment my wait wasn’t that long. I was experiencing hip pain, had seen previous doctors with no results. The doctor asked me questions about where my pain was, when and what I had tried. She then said she was going to give me a cortisone shot. It took a few days but I could finally walk, go upstairs and lay on that side without pain! She was very nice, and personable. I wouldn’t haste to go back to her or tell everyone about how amazing she is!"

"DMOS has been amazing- great facilities, friendly staff that are extremely helpful, & so convenient when an unexpected injury happens. They took such great care of my 2 kiddos that had fractured bones. Skip regular urgent care & go to DMOS instead- Would definitely recommend!!"
