"Bought a beautiful three-tier fountain here during COVID. Paid $1000 but worth it for the enjoyment it added to our back yard. Followed all the rules, cleaned it regularly, drained and pulled the pump and all the plugs every winter. This spring I was reinstalling the plugs to fill it and noticed a crack in the middle bowl. As requested, I took it apart and returned it to their shop for evaluation. In doing so, discovered 2 more components were also badly cracked. Once at the shop, I was told by the owner that it must have cracked from ice during the winter. I explained how I drained it every winter and water never stood in it. Also that 2 of the cracked pieces didn't even sit below water level. He says "Well, I could replace them but that wouldn't set a very good precedent because these fountains should last 20 years and I'm sure these cracked due to ice." Despite telling me after "evaluation" that two of the cracks were things he'd literally never seen happen before. So he knocked a whole $25 off and I had to pay to replace 2 of the pieces. The third one he told me to fix myself with epoxy. I paid because I love the fountain, and I gave this place and extra star for the same reason. But I'll never buy anything else here ever again. Word of mouth goes both ways, and maybe "setting a precedent" isn't the worst thing that could have happened."
