"My husband went in for a to go order I ordered the breakfast sandwich on Texas toast the bread was barely toasted ! We both ordered fries and we got fried potatoes with ground sausage! My husband took them back to get the fries brought them home and they were spicy! We have eaten here before and the food was good so not sure what the issue was today! My husband said the server didn't apologize or anything for giving us the wrong order ! We might give another try but it will be a while before we go back husband said his tenderloin was good and it was huge he cut it in half and put rest in refrigerator for lunch tomorrow so I guess that's the only good thing"

"Me and my girlfriend came here with family on the 31st, I'm vegan so I got the vegan pancakes, sausage, and eggs. Tasted great, looked great, but the omelette she got (the ultimate) gave her food poisoning later that day. Food was great, service and atmosphere was great, but can't say we'll be eating here again anytime soon."

"We found this place and figured it would be worth checking out. It turns out the portion sizes are massive so you definitely get your money's worth. For my first meal here I got the Tex Mex shipwreck and the name is pertinent. It wrecks any sort of diet you might be on. I could only eat half of it before I was feeling over stuffed. It tasted great, however. I plan on coming back during lunch hours to try some meals outside of your normal breakfast foods. If you like American diner food, you'll like it here."

"I recently had the pleasure of visiting Cruz's and I have to say, this place is an absolute gem! As someone who moved to Iowa from Los Angeles two years ago, I have been searching for a breakfast spot that can rival the flavors of my beloved LA breakfasts. Cruz's did not disappoint - it easily ranks in my top 5 breakfast spots in Iowa! During my visit, I tried four different dishes and each one was seasoned to perfection. The cinnamon roll French toast was a standout for me, but the garden omelet and chicken and waffles were also delicious. While the chicken and waffles may not have been on par with Roscoes, it was still great food at a very fair price. The environment at Cruz's is fantastic - the establishment is very clean and has an eclectic vibe that I really enjoyed. It reminded me of some of the top restaurants in Des Moines, like Django and Latin Kings, in terms of quality and atmosphere. During my visit, the place was full and buzzing with happy, friendly, and loyal customers. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive, adding to the great experience. Overall, I would highly recommend Cruz's to anyone looking for a top-notch breakfast spot in Iowa. I can't wait to go back and try more of their delicious dishes!"
