"We've been members of GICU for almost three years. We chose it when we moved from the KCMO area because of our excellent experience with a credit union there. The employees at Greater Iowa Credit Union are responsive and professional. The website is exceptional for those who want to check their transactions and balances daily. Our debit cards have been the subject of fraud, and GICU is super at resolving those problems if they occur. (The fraud was not, of course, their responsibility; it's more common now.) "What a joke! Thanks for the tow bill when your parking lot was NOT MARKED - no parking. Thanks to the Branch Manager for calling in our vehicle for a tow! a nice $230 + Uber to get our vehicle back to go home for 3 women in Des Moines in the dark!"
"Terrible place to bank. I would recommend shopping around before you use this bank on E. 30th St. I went in there with appropriate power of attorney documents that was notorized and my ID and member card to cash a check on behalf of my brother because he couldn't cash a check on his own, and they told me I had to have his ID. I asked them to show me policy stating that. They couldn't. They are liars and disrespectful. I've been banking there 20 years. Time to go elsewhere. Also, they took money out of my account without calling me first. GO TO A DIFFERENT BANK. Do not offer them your business."
"I have all on time payments and was told I haven't made on time payments even though the credit doesn't lie, I applied elsewhere and got pre approved same day for a better interest rate, I was told I only got denied because I don't get direct deposit into the account I have with them even though I have pay stubs showing the amount I make, I got denied for a card with a 1k limit even though I make 6 times that each month. Imagine making 72k a year after taxes with great payment history and getting denied on a 1k secured card."
