Rio Burritos

"I had heard of this restaurant in the Gazette a while back and since I had some time, I decided to check it out. The restaurant was pretty well decorated; colorful yet tasteful and some nice murals. I also appreciated the different types of Spanish music playing; it was a nice bit of variety I haven’t heard in other Mexican restaurants. The chips and salsa were tasty. The chips were crispy and had the right amount of salt while the salsa had a nice consistency and the right amount of spice (in my opinion). Anyone who wants to sit at the bar can watch pro soccer (or fútbol in Spanish) matches. I ordered the Burrito de al Pastor (filled with seasoned pork and pineapple). The burrito had a nicely toasted tortilla with some flavorful pork and fillings. Initially, I had been somewhat disappointed that I couldn’t find any pineapple but the server ensured the pineapple had been mixed in well with the meat. He even offered to get me some more in case I wasn’t satisfied. I didn’t need any extra pineapple but the gesture was appreciated. My server also had a good sense of humor and was pleasant company. He was a bit slow with getting back to my order but he was also handling other customers; I couldn’t fault him for that. As a heads up to anyone getting a burrito here, they are quite liberal with cilantro. I can understand if anyone isn’t fond of the herb though it’s quite essential for Mexican cuisine. Overall, I plan on a return visit to Rio Burritos. Hopefully much earlier in the day."

"The food is incredible. Love all the different Birria options that include more than just tacos. The portions are huge. We think the drinks could a tab better, along with the decor. But, really no complaints and we will be back."

"I really wanted to like this place. I seen all the amazing reviews but I will give a detail breakdown. The service was good and our waiter was really nice thats what made giving this review hard. I'll explain the rating. We went in at 9:34pm and their business hours are til 10pm but they said kitchen closes at 9:30pm. I ordered their "Assorted Taco" meal street style 1 Chicken 1 Steak 1 Carita With rice and beans on the side. The chicken taco not dry but however, just a bit under seasoned. The steak taco meat was good seasoned well just wasnt a fan of the long strips I like my steak tacos more cube like shape. Steak was definitely the better taco of the 3. The Carnita had a taste like it was sitting out for a while. It wasn't fresh which I assume it was due to the kitchen closing, so we got the last of it. The rice looked dry but was surprisingly not and was pretty good. Chips and salsa were really good. The chips weren't super hard like other places, and the salsa had a very nice consistency (thick, not watery) Overall, the place was decent but not great. It's not somewhere I would go out of my way to get street tacos. It wasn't bad either so between not great but not bad lol..."

"We came here for lunch. I'd seen this place as I've went to the UPS store and thought I'd give it a try. They brought us chips and salsa. The chips were warm and hand-made. The salsa was some of the best I've had. Really good flavor. Ordered the Birria taco plate. The meat was very tender and great flavor. They brought out a couple of homemade hot sauces. It was all very good. The staff was very friendly and always there when you wanted. The only thing I'd change is there isn't a lot of seating inside (Could move things around and put in more seating.) but we didn't have to wait and I didn't see anyone else having to wait. Great place, I will be back."

"We have a new favorite restaurant! The salsa was the best I've ever had & our meals were amazing! The Chicken Burrito Bowl was seasoned perfectly & our kids loved the tacos. Can't wait to go back!"
