"Our server Kaylee was awesome! It was our first time here and she took the time to chat with us about the menu and help us select awesome dinners. The food was great and very filling. I had the Aber but got it on the warm nann bread instead of bun due to dietary needs. The Sangria was so amazing and delicious! We came during happy hour and got drink specials. Look forward to coming to town again this will be our stop for sure! Thanks guys!"

"Great small venue that offers amazing food without an amazing price. Get a sandwich or a burger asap. Sure, it's busy at times, but what good restaurants are slow? My hot dog was presented like a fillet! Tasted amazing, and I took home a half!"

"I'll admit it - this review is long overdue... but it got to the point where I felt like it would be weird for me to post something. I've visited Hudson's many, many times and I've always had an amazing experience. The food menu is incredible, but it's definitely comfort bar food. If you're trying to be healthy, your choices are limited, but if you want to go home stuffed and satisfied, anything on the menu is a safe bet - I know, I've literally had everything. The beer selection is solid, with an above-average selection of taps on rotation, many of which are locally sourced. The cocktail menu is possibly the best in the area, in my opinion, between cost, variety, and consistent quality. The ambiance of the bar is fun, but chill, which makes it a nice retreat just off of the University's main campus to watch a game on Saturday or relax on the patio come Sunday. Most importantly, the staff are phenomenal and the whole reason why I'm writing this review tonight. I was a regular at the bar - hence why I felt uncomfortable reviewing - but the last several months, life led me to be completely MIA. Tonight, I walked in the door and three of the staff excitedly greeted me by name, instantly. Some of the people have changed but the experience has not - the new manager even came over during a lull to introduce himself to me. It's nice to be back at the best kept secret in Iowa City and I think it's finally time to share it with others. Keep up the good work! Edit: Spelling"

"A nice, simple atmosphere (pretty outdoor patio) with good food and great drink options. The inside was quiet, which I really appreciated since I don’t care for blaring music and loud TV’s; I love when I don’t need to shout across the table for a conversation. Our waitress wasn’t fully informed on the menu (maybe bc she was new) but she was super kind and came around our table multiple times for orders and ensuring our experience was great. She did a great job! - Raspberry Mule: 4.5/5 - Red Pepper/ pistachio hummus: 4.5/5 - Wings w/ shorts sauce: 4/5 - House salad 4.5/5 (Green Goddess Dressing Yum!) - Burger 3.5/5: to be fair I got the simple burger with lettuce pickle tomato but the patty was a little dry, however, the bun was tasty! - Hot Dog (the one with peppers & relish) 5/5: I loved the mixture of relish with hot peppers and the hot dog was delicious with a soft, crisp bun. Overall, I had a great experience and would consider coming back for the hot dog or drink!"

"Hudson’s is probably the best restaurant in Iowa, and one of the best restaurants out there. Down to the fine details, there is so much delicious flavor in the food. The shrimp po boy is the best thing on the menu in my opinion. But, they have phenomenal ranch to go with delicious fries and delectable Moscow mules. One nice option is the ability to change a burger for a chicken patty on their sandwiches. In addition to the wonderful food, there is a very cute atmosphere and vibe of the restaurant. The whole experience is awesome and I cannot even describe the awesomeness my experience every time I visit. I always come here when I want some good food."
