Cinemark Altoona and XD

"I tell ya... The people here ARE NOT happy, they act like this is the worst place to work, grumpy, grumpy! Hateful and with snide comments. The security is terrible!! Anyone can walk right in... The restroom didn't have any soap, so we know what is all over the concession stand workers hands, ick ! One positive comment, the actual seating area at the theater was Clean and comfortable."

"My boyfriend and I were the first people in line for the concessions. We ordered 2 pretzel bites and the guy helping us told my boyfriend he would have them for us further down. We stepped down and proceeded to watch him help at least 20 other people without even putting our order in to cook. Another employee, a woman, finally noticed us and asked if we were waiting for something. She then started making the pretzel bites which took all of 30 seconds? When we asked her why her coworker had told us he would make it then not help us at all while helping every other person in line she just laughed and said I dunno! Definitely will not be giving my business again."

"My girlfriend and I recently saw madame web here and had a horrible experience with purchasing consessions. We were the first people there and the request was simple, 2 orders of pretzel bites. I was told they would be prepared and handed to me further down the stand. The young man helping us went on to help many other customers ignoring my request. It wasn't until another attendendant came over and asked if we were being helped that my request was fulfilled. I repeated my order to her and she proceeded to make them. It took less than 3 minutes. So why did the first guy not make them right away? Suffice to say I will not be spending the money on concessions going forward with this being my experience at this location."

"My boyfriend took me here for Valentine’s Day so I was excited to experience it for the first time. The theater was cool but most of the staff was rude and acted like we were bothering them by being there. They wouldn’t accept my Cinemark gift card that I had got for Christmas which was really weird. Nobody told us where our theater was so we had to just walk the halls till we found it ourselves and the price for popcorn and 2 drinks cost almost $30 which is pretty pricey. I don’t think I’ll ever be going back."

"For a theater they offer amenities that are just fine. Ticket prices are fine. I like being able to grab a beer and some popcorn to watch a movie. They're relatively well laid out in terms of ergonomics. But the customer interaction isn't that great. Most of the time the staff is just counting the seconds until the shift is over. No smiles, no "thank you for choosing Cinemark Altoona" or things of that nature. No eye contact. I'm not saying I require that in order to enjoy my moviegoing experience, but when staff DOES interact with you in a caring fashion, you tend to look forward to coming again, and I think they really miss the mark on that front..."
