"Unfortunately should have read some of the other reviews, I just always heard word of mouth that this place was so good. We got there around 5:45 on a Tuesday night and it was packed. Sat down and waited a while for water and menus. Food was decent but overpriced and we had to wait around an hour for pizza, and they forgot our fries. If the service/wait is always so long, I won't go back. Better Italian restaurants for the money elsewhere in Des Moines"

"My wife and I went here for our anniversary thinking it might be a nice Italian experience. The service was extremely slow. We finally got a waitress after about 15 minutes, and ordered right away. Took about 30 minutes to get our appetizers. We ordered coca cola for drinks. The soda was so bland and flat it tasted like carbonated water. I requested a different coke and explained the issue. We got the same exact drink back to us. We just drank water and ate the $7 cost for the terrible soda. So about an hour went by and we finally received our soup and salad sides. This was also the first time the waitress came back since the appetizers. The soup was awful. So it wasn't until after I finished my salad that the waitress came out and said they were out of prime rib. Which is what I ordered. I'm like you couldn't tell me this an hour ago? I said I don't want anything at this point. So we waited another 20 minutes for them to bring my wife's lasagna that she ordered. It was absolutely MICROWAVED. And it was luke warm in the middle. $22 for microwaved lasagna. I could have made it better at home for that price. Either way at that point, and being there for an hour and a half without a meal. We got the check and left right away. By far the worst restaurant experience I've ever had. Just terrible. And it was still a $60 bill. Absolute waste of money, and I feel like we should get a refund."

"We had a wonderful experience after a visitation for my father. The staff was very kind and attentive. The food was fantastic. If I could give them 100 stars, I would. This was always my dad's favorite place and now it will be one of mine. Thank you to Christopher's for all of your help, your kindness, and the terrific food."

"Let me just say, it is not what we were hoping for. We, like many others had heard the buzz around Christopher's for many years, so last night we finally decided to try it. Service was good, drinks were great, food was the real weak point. Nothing we had was amazing, it was all about average or below."
