"I'm hoping this is a one-off, but I am very disappointed by the driver of Upcountry Islander / Route 40 on December 11, 2023, circa 6pm. I hopped on the bus at the airport, trying to get up to Makawao. On the way to Queen Ka'ahumanu Center, the bus driver berated the driver of the car ahead for going one or two mph under the speed limit. The bus driver flashed the bus' headlights at the driver, and nearly rear-ended the car at a red-light-turned-green when she promptly accelerated as soon as the light turned, despite being several cars back from the light. When we arrived at Queen Ka'ahumanu Center, she said "Let's see how many people we can run over." Since it was the end of the cycle, she told everyone to get off the bus. Since I've never taken the bus to Queen Ka'ahumanu, I tried asking if this was the same bus going back to Makawao. I didn't know if perhaps a different driver was going back upcountry. She didn't let me get two words out before yelling, and I mean actually raising her voice at me, to get off the bus. I then got back on the bus to go upcountry, and the driver is still giving passengers a nasty attitude. I feel it is unfair to be treated poorly by a public servant because I tried asking a simple question."
