Catamaran Kahanu

"Meant to post this earlier. My bad. Sorry. This trip was amazing! Everything promised was delivered. Beautiful coast. Great history and commentary. Fun snorkeling. And some of the best whale watching we’ve ever had! Best of all: the crew! Fun, smart, knowledgeable, flexible, safety conscious. Added an hour to our trip because the whales were so plentiful and close by. Loved the boat. Smaller than others but that allowed us to easily move side to side to see all the scenery and animals. Bigger cats looked too big with no room to switch sides quickly. Thumbs up!"

"The kids said this tour was the best thing we did all week in Kauai. We had Captain Kamua along with his lovely assistants Makana and Anuenue. This was my parent's 3rd time with this family-run business, our 1st but definitely not our last. We saw groups of almost 50 people getting on the huge catamarans but that's just not our scene. Captain Kamuah and his ladies were so personable, knowledgeable and fun! And on this smaller boat, we could get closer to waterfalls and such. They provide snorkeling gear and the snorkeling was fantastic. When we got back on the boat, a locally catered lunch was laid out and was delicious. Though every day is different, we were able to see breaching whales from a distance, a baby whale and mama somewhat close up, porpoises super close up, and a few sea turtles. They were also extra prepared for my sister who is prone to motion sickness and took great care of her. Of all the things to do on Kauai, this is what they wanted to do on their 40th anniversary. You must book early! I promise, you won't regret it, especially if you get to have Captain Kamua, Ānuenue and Makana on board. Thanks again!!!"

"We had an incredible trip on Catamaran Kahanu! Getting to experience Kauai from the sea is something everyone needs to do. This boat is family owned and operated and you can tell by the care that they put in to every trip! We came during a stormy week and they worked with us to reschedule our trip. On the day of the trip, it was windy but Captain Kamua still took us north and we got to see whales breaching! Absolutely incredible. HIGHLY recommend this tour! Anuenue (our hostess) was also amazing and shared so much of Hawaii culture and history. If we make it back to the island someday, we will be coming back (fingers crossed for good weather to see the entire coast)!"

"Our group of 10 had the most amazing day with Catamaran Kahanu. Captain Kamua and hostess Nikie were amazing. There were able to share so much knowledge on the area and made the whole trip a lot of fun. The Na Pali coast is stunning and so impressive. The snorkling was a lot of fun and were were able to see lots of fish and turtles too. On our journey we were escorted by a pod of dolphins and a group of whales too including a baby which was breaching constantly. The catamaran moves through the water with ease and even in the wavy conditions none of of fell ill. Thank you Kamua, Nikie, Lani, and Debbie for a memorable day!"

"Amazing experience! The captain took us really close to the caves and a waterfall of Napali Coast which is impressive. Nicky was our host and I loved her storytelling and historic facts about the coast. Highly recommend the tour to anyone visiting Kauai!"
