"Our group of 4 saw the unlicensed-female-family-therapist and came out with very mixed feelings after the session. The therapist was unable to keep one our members focused on the main subject and let them rant which made other members feel frustrated. The therapist was also unable to de escalate one of our members. The member was getting a little verbally aggressive and frustrated but surprisingly it was them who de escalated themselves with no help from the therapist. Lastly the group was hoping to get some sort of suggestions on positive communication tools or approaches on how to communicate if faced with a negative situation. Our group was told that her "approach" was different and that it focused primarily on knowing more about the individual and their relationships etc. And it is up to the individual to think for themselves and act accordingly. We totally respect that. That's her approach and it unfortunately doesn't meet our needs. Again was met with little feedback from therapist we wanted clarification on 1 or 2 points from the discussion that some of us felt strongly about but she diverted and therapist wanted to focus on something else."
