"This was an excellent place to stay. The breakfasts were amazing, the grounds are incredible, the location is great and the rooms are cute. The details are very clear and straightforward on the website. The lack of A/C was not a problem for us."

"We enjoyed our stay at the Old Hawaiian B&B. Lory and Stewart were excellent hosts. The breakfasts they made for us were full of delicious local fruits and baked goods. Their backyard was beautiful and the Lanai was a nice place to take it all in. Wonderful experience overall. We would return for sure!"

"Just returned from a 2 night stay on the big island. The owners were on the mainland, but Kala was Uh-MAZE-ing! She welcomed us with so much Aloha Spirit and gave us a tour of the fruit trees behind the house! She presented the wonderful breakfast and shared that she made it fruit-forward because of our conversation upon arrival. I didn't know the owners would not be there, but there was a note on our door when we arrived, letting us know how to get in touch with Kala. Honestly, our 2 nights here truly enhanced our visit to the island: Kala was such a warm, welcoming, informative and helpful hostess, that between her and the location (on a lush and fruit tree filled property, walking distance to the boiling pots and an easy drive to Volcano Park and the adorable town of Hilo) we can't imagine having stayed anywhere else. While the rooms were small, they were quite clean and if you are going to just hang out, I can't imagine why you would stay in your room when the lanai is so much more beautiful!"

"We were greeted by our host on arrival. He walked us through the property with the various fruit trees to which we could help ourselves. We stayed twice at this property and both of the rooms were very comfortable and clean. Lory provided delicious homemade breakfast (scones, muffins, banana bread, fresh fruits, smoothie, etc.) to start off on our adventure every morning. We will definitely stay again when we go back to Hilo!"

"Stayed an entire week at this property with 4 friends. We loved it! Property is gorgeous and just a short walk to Boiling Pots and 1 mile from Rainbow Falls. The host made us a spectacular breakfast every morning and even catered to my vegan diet, including fresh fruits grown right on their land. It's just a short ride into downtown or the bayfront, so was convenient for many of our activities. If you're looking for more of a local feel and to experience the true Hilo Aloha spirit, this is a fabulous place to stay!"
