"lady who took my blood was fine and nice, but when I came up to the window about paying my bill, they ignored me. I said "excuse me" multiple times and she didn't look up not once. This was a really unfortunate experience, the people who work at all the ds labs are very mean. I see that they are busy, but that is no excuse to treat others as non human beings."

"I got there in the middle of day and no one was in the waiting area. The sign at the counter said OPEN but no worker was around, although i could hear voices. Several times, I knocked and called out for acknowledgment, but no one answered. I waited for almost 10 minutes until their phone rang, and then a worker came out to answer it. After she got off the call, I let her know I had been waiting, and she just said, "Take a number" and walked away. A moment later, another worker came out to finally assist me."

"Yesterday I went to drop off a throat swipe from my doctor to the lab. When I got there, there was a woman sitting in the waiting area and I asked if she had been helped. She said yes so I proceeded to the counter. No one was at the desk nor did I see anyone in the lab using their perspective mirror. I rang the bell once. I waited for 5 minutes and no one answered. I looked around but still no one. I rang the bell one more time. A couple minutes later I get an attitude filled lab technician with, "You know, ma'am I have others before you so next time take a number." I explained to her that I was told that I just needed to drop off the sample from my doctor. She continued to roll her eyes and said "ID and insurance card." It took her no more than 2 minutes to make a copy of my cards and have me fill in my signature and phone number. Then when she was finished, she tossed my paper work on the counter and walked away. Okay first off, she could have easily voiced, "Sorry I'm busy but will be there as soon as I am done." Something. Secondly, I am sick and the last thing I need is for someone to be acting like a fool. Rolling her eyes, throwing an attitude is what children do. She was unprofessional and needs a clear understanding what field she is in. Yes you may be a lab technician, but you also need people skills when doing so. Lastly, the process took her 2 minutes: handing her my sample, Xeroxing 2 cards and get me to sign my name and write in my phone number. I was not there to give blood nor take a urine test. It was dropping off a sample. Granted she may have been having a bad day, but newsflash: you are in customer service so buck up and drop the attitude. I will be contacting Kuakini Hospital at a later time today to speak to a supervisor. No one should have an uneasy feeling dropping off samples and wondering if the lab technician is going to either disregard your sample or botch it. I can assure you that this will be my last time using this lab. With the amount of elderly at this facility, I truly hope this technician doesn't act the same towards them. Kuakini... teach your staff customer service skills."
