"Hoonani Sunrise has a sign that says “support a local business it matters” and that appealed to me. I walked in and made eye contact with the owner and said hello to her but she just looked at me and then looked away without even acknowledging me and continued with looking at her phone. I was the only person in the store. Maybe Maui is being inundated with tourists at the moment but this is no way to treat a customer. Just so entitled to demand patronage without extending basic courtesy. If you are reading this please understand manners matter. If you don’t like working here please don’t ruin the vibe/ambience for other people."
"This is a fun local shop that features an eclectic variety of clothes, hats, touristy stuff and local craft items. Locally owned (as their sign declares, "support a local business, it matters"), Ho'onani Sunrise is one of my go-to Maui Gift Shops -- always fun!"
