"Got right in and was close to everything we wanted to see on front street. 3 hours so make sure you keep an eye on time or you will get a ticket. We were there just under 3 hours and had no problem."
"Its free, and its on Front St. Thats nice. Be sure to watch how long you are there for, they WILL get you if you are over. Its kinda tight, and half the lot is in the dirt and unmarked, but it is sure convenient. Really great if you are coming from a ways away to Prison St. Pizza (which I recommend)."
"Free parking? Three hour limit. The cops know all the excursions that depart from that location and for how long. Car was marked just after 730am when we left and ticketed at 1038am. Our snorkeling tour returned and moored at 1230pm. Almost every vehicle in that lot had a ticket. Do the math…..how much $$ are the cops collecting, daily, weekly, monthly? Just another FU to the tourists that come to not only enjoy nature but pump some $$ back into the local economy after COVID. Guess the Police and the City have to get their hands in the pot by having a ridiculous parking time limit. Here’s a thought- instead of having a free parking lot for only 3 hours, implement a mobile payment parking solution and let folks pay for the amount of time they need? Oh, but wait, the cops wouldn’t get their fancy trikes to ride around on….."
"It’s a trap! Watch out for the lane of parking that is poorly marked for buses only. Watched a cop give tickets here when we parked and when we left. On the day we went, there were all cars parked there, making it look like normal parking. Looked like the city was making plenty of money off this free parking lot. Otherwise, nice location and it’s free for 3 hours."
"A little rough but that's Lahaina for you. You may have to park in a dirt area but it sure beats paying all day long. Free parking really eases the crowding and hard to find parking along the street, which is finally getting worse (a good thing) after Lahaina shut down like a ghost town in 2020 at the beginning of the Pandemic. Many businesses were decimated. Sad to see Bubba Gump and Ruth Chris are both gone now in December of 2021."
