"Must see when in Hawaii it’s about a 20 minute boat ride out to the sandbar and there’s few companies have monopoly on it. However, they do make it enjoyable and relaxing. Don’t know if I would come out kayak, but if you have the stamina you should do it. i don’t think no place to tie up. Snorkeling isn’t the best because you’re able to see a few fish."

"Since we didn't have that much time left, we had to decide between the sandbars or the twin Islands and we did not regret our choice. We rented the kayak for 60$ for a half day from windward watersports (big mahalo) and drove it down to the dock (19mins). You don't see the sandbars from the dock, but they are closer than you would think. At a 45° angle you leave the dock and head towards an island, but the sandbars come way before that. It took us around 40mins one-way. Then dock your kayak in the sandbar with an anchor and snorkel around the reef (do not step on the reef!). When you snorkel around the reef, be aware of the current, that might push you towards the dock, but once you get the hang of it, you will see beautiful fish and if lucky some huuuge sea turtles (as big as the hood of our car) chilling in the reefs. It was surreal to just stand there in the middle of the ocean and this adventure made our trip to Oahu so wonderful."
"The Kaneohe Sandbar is one of the more special places on O’ahu. Depends on the tide can be lower or higher the wayer level, but after you paddle out it feels like you are on an island in the middle of the ocean. The views are amazing all around. It is a great place for snorkeling too. It can get a lot of tourist on the boats, so if you want a better experience use a kayak or a SUP to get there. It is about 30 minutes from the shoreline."
"We took a tandem kayak out to the sandbar. It was quite a workout but worth it! The sandbar was not exposed the day we went out but the water was ankle deep. We swam right along a sea turtle who didn't seem bothered by us at all. Such an amazing experience and the view from the sandbar is incredible."
