"I always shop Safeway get some really good deals from app. I went yesterday bought frozen box golden leaf chicken thighs . Started to defrost them today they were spoiled smelled really disgusting I called and they said can return to store always save my receipts. Yes agree customer service here is bad the employee didn't seem to concerned I told her smell the chicken if she wanted seems like she didn't really seem concerned or cared. Lol. . I bought a pork roast last week same thing took it home smelled bad it was spoiled but I didn't keep my receipt I will continue to shop here but will never buy meat here again will go Costco for all meats"

"This store always has what I'm looking for and is always clean. Prices could be better. It seems most items are overpriced. The self checkout area is always convenient. But customer service could be better. Most of the cashiers I've interacted with are usually unpleasant. This is the reason why I always use the self checkout instead. Unfortunately, today just reinforced how I feel about the cashiers. I had to make a return today and was ignored by Kanani, who was on her phone, texting. After standing there for a minute, she finally addressed me and asked if I needed help. I told her I had to make a return. She then hesitantly said she'd be right back. After waiting several minutes, I was approached by China, who rudely said, "Do you need help with something?" from behind my back while approaching the Guest Services desk. I told her I had to make a return. She was more concerned about getting her phone charged. I handed her my receipt and the products I needed to return. During the process of the return, she nonchalantly told me to take out the card I originally paid with. She was still fiddling with her phone charger and was concerned with finding a place to plug it in. After the receipt printed, she said, "This is your return," without a thank you or asking if I needed anything else. I'm the one who said "Thanks," before walking away. She just said "Yep," and went back to whatever she was doing. There needs to be better training on customer service at this store."

"My family and I went there, whole there they said my son had to leave the store the made me up set by doing this saying he stole. He said he didn't and they made a big fuss saying he did. So I had my son walk out and go to the car, we desided to put the things back and go to a different store well walking out these people was talking loudly about the issue that just happened and laughing about it. I told them don't worry well be taking our business else where they laughed and was rude and made an even bigger deal about it so I then sweared at them and walked out.i will not be using this store again. This is not the first time they have done something stupid. It's not worth stress so I think I don't need that store. There are alot more stores to go to simple"

"Safeway is a nice grocery store. We have shopped here when on vacation over the years. Good selection and clean location. The reason for 3 stars vs 5 stars : the cashier was snippy wife my wife as we followed the directions mgt had given us to find our old Safeway Card and we were charged on one item the discount price wasn’t given- probably not linked in the system."
