Touch the Sky Prairie

"A great place to check out before or after visiting Blue Mounds State Park! Fairly remote, I was the only one there when visiting."

"Well worth a stop ! Take a look, then close your eyes, listen, smell, and then open your eyes back up. Will take you back in time....well at least until ya see all the wind generators in the background. Beautiful prairie !!"

"Visiting Blue Mounds State Park and made a stop at nearby Touch the Sky Prairie in late July. Made it to the prairie (small parking lot), so did not hit the waterfall section. Beautiful prairie with a mowed trail from one end to the other. Walked half way from the south and was surrounded by a sea of yellow flowers that seemed to extend to the horizon of the sky. The info boards were well done and glad to visit during full color. Some beautiful scenery, except for the numerous wind turbines in the background. Probably would have gave it 4-stars if we had time to visit the waterfall trail. Worth the stop during the color season, and probably should include the waterfall trail (which appears a bit small). Except for a hike along the trail and reading the info boards/donation rock, not much variety on the prairie section, but a good stop for an hour to stroll through the native flowers and grasses."

"Visited August 19 walked the water fall trail. It's one trail of three. The others are the bluffs trail and the ridge trail. Waterfall trail naturally led to a series of small water falls. Trail was pretty level well mowed, no dirt, with an abundance of wildflowers. Miles of gravel road to get there but it's worth it."

"A vast beautiful prairie with nicely maintained trails that you can even bring your kids with on. Many various rock features and in the southern portion many various water features. My family really enjoyed how you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere with nothing but the sky enveloping you...a very pleasant experience!"
