"The dental practice is badly managed. Turnover is high, and they don't seem to reserve spots for emergency situations--I've never heard of that. I came to them with an emergency that they had diagnosed earlier (a tooth that was about to come out), and they said, "We can get you in in three months." The hygienists and dentists always seemed competent to me, but because of turnover there isn't much continuity, and the lack of responsiveness is a deal-breaker for me. I won't be going back."

"Reception was nice, I got in to see someone quickly, and the nurse taking my vitals was pleasant. That's where the positive experience ends, however. Without going into personal detail, the actual medical care offered was not only subpar but frustrating and, at times, insulting. I was never asked to provide a medical history or list of medications, something I would expect from any decent clinic. The NP I visited did not fully listen to the progression of my symptoms and made a diagnosis that conflicted with a previous diagnosis, completely ignoring my most serious concerns. When I pushed back against her conclusion, she brought in a doctor--Dr. Tongen, I believe, which would align with other reviews here. He proceeded to examine me without saying a word to me, directing his questions to the NP. When I spoke up to offer the details he wasn't aware of, explain the previous diagnosis, and tell him what had been tried previously (to partial success), he rudely shushed me, saying smugly "Then why do you still have it?" He gave me no chance to respond before telling the NP to send me to a specialist and patronizingly patting me on the knee on his way out. This doesn't even begin to address several smaller details during the visit that made me question the quality of care I was receiving. I didn't see anyone wash their hands or wear gloves even when physically examining me. The NP looked in my mouth and thought I had had my tonsils removed, for some reason (I have not). I had to reiterate simple details like "when did this start?" several times throughout the visit. I don't trust the prescription I walked out with because they had no way of knowing if I was taking anything else that would interact with it; they didn't ask. The moral of the story is that even if you come in armed with a fairly clear idea of the problem and ready to aggressively advocate for yourself, the "professionals" at United Family Medicine will have no trouble blowing you off. These people would tell you a broken arm is psychosomatic. After this experience, I wouldn't trust them to examine a paper cut."

"If I can give this place 0 starts I would!! DO NOT GO HERE!! Doctors are always leaving! This place is so unstable I’m not sure why are they even open???? Was told by one of the community health workers they had to lay people off because of how broke/unstable they are.. LONG wait times HORRIBLE customer service, I’ve had 5 different doctors because every time I pick someone new they seem to leave or always calling to reschedule. Reached out several time to speak to a person in charge till this day no one has reached out. Who’s even running this place? Please take my advice and save your time from going to this place."

"I would give a 0 if I could. I used to have a fantastic Dr. here, but then he mysteriously vanished and no one will tell me anything. The next person I saw was rude, condescending, told me that they only had so much time with me (so my health care isn't important, only processing patients as fast as possible apparently), made me partially disrobe in front of her and my husband, and even had my husband examine the area I was having an issue with, though he is not in the medical field. *Edited to add that while my previous Dr. saw all of my conditions and recognized that I am not a healthy person by any stretch (I am disabled due to many factors), this new person, and the clinic staff, determined that, even with a person in the home with a Shingles outbreak occurring, I was somehow too healthy for the vaccine. **Second Edit - I had ALREADY emailed them about this issue, and their clinic is closed today, so calling the number provided does nothing. ***Third Edit, I have now been TRYING to contact ANYONE in charge over there for over a week, even though the day *after* my original post (1/14/24) they said to contact them, and still, crickets. I keep getting promises that someone will contact me same day/next day, but that never materializes. Save yourselves the heartache and trauma. ****FOURTH edit - it has now been 10 days since my initial post, and I have yet to hear from the clinic in regards to my issues. I advised them that if they did not bother to treat me like a human and respect me and my time again, I would be reaching out to the medical board, and that is what I will be doing. *****FIFTH edit - I have been calling almost daily since this review was initially posted, and no one has EVER called me back in all this time. We are now approaching a month of them failing to contact me. I do *finally* have the correct site to report the person who provided the care, but at this point, I'll be looking into my options for reporting the clinic as a whole. STAY AWAY."

"I drive to this clinic from Forest Lake to see Tegan Presley because she's so worth it, and so are the support staff. Together, this team is nothing short of awesome! They are friendly, personable and real people who genuinely care about my health and healthcare needs. I've been seeing this truly special team for well over a year now, and highly recommend them for both addiction services and complicated health situations. A+++"
