Children's Minnesota Hospital - St. Paul 345 Smith Avenue North, Saint Paul, MN 55102

"My son had been having headaches for 2-3 weeks when his provider ordered an MRI as part of the work up. MRI was completed on 1/22/24. It’s now 2/2/24 and I, nor my sons provider, have received results. I was told the day of the appointment that it would be 1-2 days for results to be sent to my provider and then they’d be released into my sons mychildren’s account. Nothing. He continues to have headaches. When I called to follow up on this, the person who answered in radiology attempted to be helpful by saying “I see the encounter happened but I can’t see anything else.” He then said he would call the radiologist that was on the day of the MRI and if I don’t see anything in mychildrens in a day or so to call back. I was given the choice between Masonic Children’s and Children’s Minnesota, I chose Children’s MN because my son is an established patient there. Poor choice on my part. I will be transferring my children’s care to M Health - Masonic Children’s. Children’s care has deteriorated greatly. So disappointing when profits come before patients."

"I was always told to go to children’s when your child needs to be seen for significant health concerns. So we went to children’s St. Paul emergency when my 4 month daughter had been throwing up, to the point of dehydration... we went at 1am and we were seen by the triage nurse right away to get vitals and were aware that the wait would be 60-90 minutes before we knew we could get a room. However when we got a room after 90 minutes in the waiting area, we continued to wait for 4.5 hours and no one checked on us. My daughter appeared happy, despite everything… but no one came to check on us, or assess whether an IV would be needed. In the end, 24hours later our daughter was hospitalized at another hospital for dehydration… I can’t help but feel frustrated that Children’s emergency department had lacked concern for my daughter not having a wet diapers for 8 hours and should have taken initiative and placed an IV. At the hospital we ended up being admitted at demonstrated concern and urgency, we saw a doctor within 30 minutes and they placed IV 30 minutes later. The lack of care was frustrating! We came to learn other friends of ours with a 5 month old came to Children’s as well earlier that week and Also ended up leaving due to not being seen by a doctor. I will not recommend Children’s St Paul"

"Worst treatment ever! Highly discriminatory hospital, I’m never taking my children to this hospital ever again. I currently have a family member who their child is hospitalized in his hospital. I’m extremely concerned for them. Are they treating my family member correctly? How can you trust a hospital to treat your illness fairly if they are disapproving who you are as a person and as a human being despite of your appearance. This hospital discriminatory and unprofessional treatment that happened to us in more than one occasion, starting from the welcome desk and the triage nurse is a cause for being alarmed. The most heartbreaking incident just happened hours ago 10-19-23 at 2:45am. My child had a high temp of 107. My child body was shaking so I took my my 2 years old to the children of MN ER in St. Paul. After the triage nurses checked my child they ask us to wait in the lobby. My child and I waited and waited for more than 2 hours while people who just arrived are being admitted inside. I asked the triage nurse “why are theses people who just came after us are being send to see the doctor while we are here waiting” the triage nurse had no good response so I had to leave with my child. I left work drove 40 minutes to children of Minnesota hospital in St. Paul just to be treated this way. I had to leave, what other choice do I have. My sick child whose temp is 107 had to come back home with no answer to why he was sick. When the power of who gets to be seen as patient is given to discriminatory people these unfair actions will happen. We have been racially discriminated against in this hospital twice and this has to stop and it starts with us. I want this two incidents to be investigated and I want to see results. Failure to do so, I will hire a law firm and have them investigate it. Also following with the news for public awareness and to investigate as well. Imagine how many would come forward after seeing my story on the news. I will 100% follow up with a law suit. This is to show you how serious I am and I’m done to be treated like that. This is United States of America and I am a law abiding citizen who deserve better treatment."

"Thank you so much to the nurses, doctors, and staff for acting swiftly and efficiently to care for my son who came in and was diagnosed with appendicitis resulting in a same day appendectomy. The staff was kind, gentle, and caring and took exceptional care of my guy! I'm very grateful."
