Primrose School of St. Paul at Merriam Park

"I sent my baby to primrose in Merriam park from 4 months to 9 months. We only left because of a cross country move. Now having experience with three other childcare centers (have another child), I can say with confidence that primrose in Saint Paul is outstanding. The staff is professional, friendly, and great communicators. The caregivers are phenomenal. We had a great experience with all. We’ve been away for about two months and we’ve often said “wow we miss primrose”. It’s a great facility and staff."

"My ex husband who I co parent with, turned up a little earlier than normal to pick up our daughter. He found her screaming and crying with one of the carers trying to calm her. They had let her go outside in this cold winter weather with no gloves on. I’m concerned that my little girl of 4 and maybe other children are not being properly looked after by these teachers. They tried to say that her father hadn’t packed her winter gear when indeed he makes sure every day. We have called the director to follow up on this issue. The last thing I want to hear is the discomfort my child’s experiences in the hands of strangers."

"This is based on a tour and not enrollment *** You can understand why this center has been successful. They have their routine down and things are definitely clean, updated and organized. At first I think I enjoyed my tour, but after consideration I realized I was bedazzled by the routine and overlooked a few things. A child in the infant room had fallen asleep on the floor which is a violation. In the toddler room a child was acting up and the teacher looked like she lost her temper and quite forcefully put him in the corner and threw a blanket on him. After seeing these two events I could tell my tour-guide was nervously explaining them away - knowing well that they were not appropriate. I am sure it's not easy to do this job and it's not fair to judge on the two things I saw. More than anything my rating reflects the fact that it feels administration heavy (read: business profit center). I think if my daughter landed here I would feel she is generally safe and taken care of. What I wouldn't feel is that she is loved and treated as an individual amongst all the other children here. My advice would be to allow more exposure to the teachers during your tours as they seem more "down to earth" than those running the operations."

"It's really sad that I was hired as a Lead Teacher. After needing more time to heal. After having Rotator Cuff surgery. Following Dr's orders. And one of the Owners tells me that, when I can come back. To check and see if there is a position open. So, I see that my school has a add running to hire. I leave messages and text. Then, I get a call from the Director saying that, the add is for a different location. Then, why have a add on Indeed for the St. Paul, Minnesota location? That to me is miss reption of the add for positions."
