"Five stars for Dr. Kevin Smith but 1 star for the 2 hour wait time. By the time I saw the doctor, I'd waited over 2 hours for a room and was bleeding through my sweatpants in the waiting area with a pregnancy complication. The triage nurse at the womens clinic told me to go to ER so I wasn't just going as an overreaction. Just know that if you go here you're going to wait a LONG time so only go if you truly need it. Dr. Smith was great. He was professional, he made me feel comfortable and he was very kind and helpful."

"My son arrived at 5:00 PM Monday October 23, 2023. Dehydrated for two days and extremely sick. They did nothing, vomiting, sweating, extreme stomach pain, blurred vision. Let him lay on the floor and wouldn’t give him water after vomiting. People waiting over 6 hours. Hospitalize now in Monticello. I would give a - 100 stars if available. Now on his 4th night in hospital. And this hospital wouldn’t treat him except terribly."

"Just left the children’s ER with my 18 month old, WITHOUT SEEING A DOCTOR. 6+ hours of waiting in the lobby. Idgaf what medical term y’all put on it, it does not take 6+ hours for a dam doctor to check on patients. Like let’s be frfr, nurses, assistants, lab does all the work, even if 1 doc was on the schedule… IT DOESNT TAKE 8 hrs to walk in a op room and look down throats, ears, etc or whatever for 2 mins, ESPECIALLY for babies. Y’all have been doing this for years. I literally sat in the lobby at 9pm and scheduled a appt for my baby tomorrow at 7am for pain meds. How embarrassing, unprofessional, unethical, waste of everyone’s dam time… The nurse told me all the test was negative (she was awesome), and I left. Ppl with sick babies, I advised you go somewhere else if you want care for your babies, united has changed and is not an EMERGENCY ROOM."

"My 97 year old mother was taken to United Hospital ER in St. Paul by ambulance at about 10:30pm on a Saturday evening in March of 2022 after we found her on the floor of her independent living apartment. She had been on the floor for at least 14 hours. My husband, brother and I went to the ER and stayed there until after midnight. The staff had communicated minimally with us but we assumed she would be well taken care of. At 7:20 the next morning I was called by an ER nurse who said to come and get her because they could not find anything medically wrong with her. I asked if she had an IV, assuming she was dehydrated, and the answer was 'no'. They had done a few blood tests. She had not been admitted to the hospital and had spent the night in the ER. She was brought out to our car in a wheelchair. Normally she walked without a walker or cane. We took her home and she couldn't stand or walk. Sunday afternoon we took her to Regions Hospital Emergency room They quickly started an IV and got lab work and X-rays.She had a urinary tract infection and an X-ray showed a fracture in her back. She was admitted to the hospital and spent 3 nights there and then a month in Transitional Care."

"I was here two times this week with horrific back pain, worse than labor, both spasms hitting me in the middle of the night. Both times my sets of nurses were kind, compassionate, and quick to care for me and meet my needs. My first night I had Mike as my RN, and Rafael helped start my IV with the ultrasound machine (making that process so much easier and less scary.) The second night I was in I had Megan and Kelly on my care team, and they were also so kind and reassuring me that I made the right choice to come in even though I was doubting myself, despite my pain level being a 10. My care was quick, thorough, and easy, and if I ever need an ER again, I won't hesitate to come here. I appreciate that it's connected to my Allina profile as well, so I could see tests and results as they were ordered and uploaded to my chart."
