Beard and Lady Inn

"A friend and I had met for lunch nearby and we had both spotted this place on our way in. Both of us curious, we had wanted to check it out and see what it was all about. We were so glad we did! The lady running the counter (I'm so sorry I cannot remember her name!) was so very nice and helpful. We spent a good while visiting and looking at all the oddities for sale and enjoying the conversation about all the goods for sale downstairs. There was an herbology class going on in the back half of the shop which sounded lively and entertaining as well. My friend bought some all natural perfume and oils. I enjoyed looking at the antiques. They also have a TinType Photo setup, and apparently there are rooms for rent. I am sure we will be visiting again very soon. I plan to point friend to this hidden gem for sure!"

"So much fun to step back in time, at least all the nice parts. Updated plumbing and lighting and bedding, with old-fashioned charm and hospitality. I thought it was absolutely delightful to get to meet the other guests and share a spacious and well-supplied bathroom; others may disagree but there is a suite with an en-suite bathroom for them!"

"My husband and I stayed at The Beard and Lady for two nights and would recommend it to anyone. I didn't expect our stay to be a highlight of our trip but it really was. The inn-keepers were very sweet and helpful and the facilities were comfortable, clean and down-right cozy. We played board games with each other AND with fellow guests. This is definitely a place that brings people together. On the flip-side, our room was very secure and private so you can keep to yourself if that's more your style."

"I can’t post as an experienced guest, but I can post as a concerned parent whose teenage daughter and friends became stranded with a broken down vehicle near this area. They pulled into this little place and were greeted by the owners outside who welcomed them in for a safe place to stay until I was able to get to them. Was amazed at this place when I arrived. Beautiful interior and a welcoming atmosphere! Haven’t met them, but have to say these are great people! Anyone who opens their business to people in need are wonderful people! I was over an hour from my daughter and friends so knowing they weren’t sitting on the side of a road and welcomed inside this place gave me so much comfort."

"The hotel is beautifully restored with so much attention to detail. They really have done a wonderful job creating the historic feel and look from the time period. When we stayed there was a book signing event going on downstairs and the noise was very noticeable in our room. With no other sounds like a fan or radio to mask it, we found it to be pretty distracting. And when the event ended people were talking on the second floor hallway and it was loud. Not the owners fault, but maybe a white noise machine or fan would help. The shared bathrooms were nicely done but the women’s was set to 66° and would not go higher so it was chilly showering. I appreciated the snacks and coffee but a kettle for tea drinkers would be wonderful. Overall it’s a lovely place and we enjoyed our stay. Would love it if breakfast or dinner was available in the hotel!"
