"The audiologist and the nurses were BEYOND polite, friendly, and helpful, but the younger receptionist needs to find a new job! My 5 year old was referred to them in NOVEMBER for an EMERGENCY audiology and ENT appointment because his doctor thought he may have a blocked artery in his brain which could lead to an aneurysm or death! Luckily it didn't end up being that serious, but if anything had happened between the initial referral and the appointment- 6 months- we would have been suing! I called 2-4 times a week from November to February to see if they'd scheduled him, never got anyone to answer the phone, and they never returned any of my voicemails. Finally got a call from them mid-February and the earliest availability was for May 2nd!! And it was at 8am. So it's almost 8 when I make it into ft smith and I start calling at 8am to tell them we're coming but trying to get through school and work traffic, no one answers any of the calls. So we get to the front desk at 8:05, she doesn't acknowledge me until 8:09 and then RUDELY tells me we were supposed to be there at 8. I told her I was coming from Spiro and we had to get through school and work traffic, plus Rogers Ave traffic which is always bad, and I had called several times to let them know we were coming. She says rudely again, the line doesn't open until 8. I said yes and I started calling AT 8 with no answer. She rolled her eyes and scoffed at me and said she'd have to see if the doctor would still see him or if we needed to reschedule. I let her know they WOULD be seeing him since his EMERGENCY referral was sent in NOVEMBER and they refused to do their job for a solid 3 months!! The doctors were more than happy to see him and immediately called us back and cut her off while she was trying to explain that we shouldn't have been late for the appointment. If you can't have some manners and show basic human decency, you shouldn't be working a front desk at a HOSPITAL!"
