"Went to Academy to buy my husband a 270 rifle. The guy behind the counter was very rude. He took his time to wait on me, acted like it was a problem for me to handle the rifle, and then had the nerve to tell me I couldn't buy it if it wasn't for me. Pissed me off cause I knew better. So I went and got my husband and the old man sold it to him. To finalize the sale he had to get his supervisor and SHE, looking like me, was very pleasant. The guy, Gary, had a change in his attitude when he heard my husband tell her that I had been in the military. After all sales were final, he tried to apologize . We accepted but I will never buy another fire arm from this store."

"Decided to go to Academy today with a plan to purchase a lever action rifle, a shotgun and an old west style six-shooter. Browsed by sight for a few minutes then stood at the counter. Two old men behind the counter had ZERO interest in selling or helping a customer. One was pecking on a computer while the other leaned against the gun rack. The one at the computer never looked up and the other just stared at me. I finally had to ask about one of the firearms because it had no tags or info on it. He stated the prices but never offered to show us the items. My son, who wanted the shotgun, asked to see it. After he held and looked the weapon, he handed it back and the old man just walked off. Not another word was said. Just walked back to leaning against the gun rack Academy, you lost a $2000+ sale this evening because of these two nursing home escapees. Do better."

"My son and I visited the store today. We looked for shoes of a specific brand and no. They had a very limited selection and what they did have, were ugly. Then we went to the firearms department. I had decided before hand that I wanted a lever action rifle. Either a Sharps or a Rossi. I also wanted an old west style six-shooter. My son wanted a shotgun. All told, I was planning on around a $2000 cost. These two old geezers at the counter had zero desire to help us in choosing what we might want. One was too busy pecking away at the computer and the other was too busy leaning against the gun display rack. When we had finished browsing the inventory and wanted to actually look at a few different items, I stood and stared at them and waited. The one pecking never looked up, even though I was less than 3 feet from him. The other just stared back at me but never offered any assistance at all. I finally asked about an unmarked firearm and my son asked to actually hold it. He wasn’t sure if it was what he wanted so handed it back to him at which point the lazy geriatric just walked off without another word. We didn’t bother to ask anything else and Academy lost out on $2000+ in sales because they found some nursing home escapees to stand like broken down wooden dummies behind the counter."

"We went to the Academy to buy a small barbeque pit that was on sale. We ended up buying a lot of clothes, charcoal, spices, gloves the small barbeque pit and a large barbeque/oker pit as well. The prices were great."

"Awesome selection of cycles from the beginner to the intermediate and advanced level riders. I love our favorite bike store but for the value academy has them beat by a long shot."
