"Had a very good talk by the interim staff chief, sweet girl from Texas. She was very informative and knew the area well. Really enjoyed it."

"Quiet and clean park with plenty of parking and shaded picnic areas. Boat ramp can only handle small boats, perfect for launching a paddle board, kayak or canoe."

"It’s nice and quiet when the weather warms up. This mid-May afternoon hit just above 100 degrees and there was only one boat in the water."

"Meers Point Trail is a nice place to visit at Imperial National Wildlife Refuge. There is a a lake/pond, a picnic area, two docks for fishing, and a boat ramp. It is pretty peaceful and a relaxing place to visit."

"The boat ramp has a usable for smaller boats short concrete ramp with a gravely parking area pick-nick tables and a gazebo area. The dock side boards are higher above the water then ideal for lower rub rails. Not a big deal if it was suited for bigger vessels but it is not. It would be a good location for fishing in a very small boat or for a kayak the depth varies and is mostly just a few feet to over a yard deep. The access to the main lake and river is shallow with lots of debris to catch in props or jet intakes. The unkept vegetation gave me an impression it is a place they either don’t care about or do not want visitors. The restrooms were closed with a note to use the main visitor center I do not know if the closure was for a short time or permanent."
