"I read a bunch of the negatives on these guys, so I thought I'd weigh in. I had my German Shepherd trained there- He's not impeccably "police ready" trained, but he is trained not to be a derp in public, to the point where he's a perfect gentleman when the collar goes on. Mostly dealt with Mel when I did the training- her methods might seem a little draconian at times, but she did get amazing results. Since then, I've had my dogs kenneled there when we've gone out of town. When we've returned, they're happy and healthy, and freshly groomed. I'll use these guys again in a heartbeat. Personally, I've never had a run-in with the staff like any of the 1 star reviews are describing, but I will offer that these are people, and they're allowed to have a bad day once in a while. Sometimes, if someone's being a pill, you just gotta forget about it and move on, instead of writing a bad review and trying to cancel them."

"My service dog was bred and trained by Melanie. I couldn’t be happier with my companion. Some of these reviews are absolutely ludicrous and it just goes to show, some people shouldn’t own dogs. The truth hurts sometimes, we go to trainers to LEARN. Maybe your dog doesn’t respect you, that’s something you NEED to be made aware of. I sure did. And it didn’t feel great but it was the truth and once I excepted that, the turn around was amazing. Now my dog absolutely respects and listens to me and I feel more capable than ever despite having a disability. Lose your egos people! This is an AMAZING facility."

"It is evident that the people at Guthrie Ranch are experienced professionals who truly care for a dog's well being. They were patient and extremely thorough in all aspects of training, including making sure the humans were trained before we left! We chose a two week board and train for our German Shepherd Dog (5 months old). She was out of control before her training and now she is calm and well mannered. I highly recommend them in all aspects. We look forward to more advanced classes in the future and we will also go to Guthries for all grooming and boarding. The whole facility is beautifully maintained and the kennel area was SPOTLESS. We made the right choice by taking our pup here. Thank you for teaching us how to partner with our pup so everyone reaps the benefits."
