"So everyone is really nice there and the place is below the average price. Way below if you wait for a deal. But during classes Jay tends to zone out after he teaches a technique and you see him staring at his phone texting away. There's inconsistencies with lesson plans and a rourune is never stuck to. I had several missed private lessons as well with no call no show. Then when I got injured it took several messages and conversations to stop payment. Wouldn't be that bad but, I was out of work from surgeries from the injury and caused over drafts. Said he would pay the money back, been a while and ain't seen a dime. Lesson learned."

"We started our BJJ journey a few years ago at a gym in Texas. We loved it, compete often, and we honestly giving a lot of the local competitors a run for their money. We decided to take a cross country road trip and every stop we would check out the local gym. We came by Jay’s and we’re welcomed with open arms… then we started training… WOW… gave us a run for our money. Made us realize the Jits at Jays is on a whole different level than ANYWHERE we have been. We ended up moving to AZ just to train with Jay and his team. We have compete under Jay against some of the hardest competition we have faced; Jay and his crew has took our Jits to a level I never thought we could be at, being 40, never thought it was possible. Additionally, his wife Lisa, who is also one of the baddest black belts I have ever met, has one of the BEST female only classes, her spider guard is amazing, I hated it before, now it’s part of my regular game. Beyond the training, it IS AN ACTUAL FAMILY SETTING. We’ve been to other gyms where they act like that… as long as you pay tuition, with Jay… I kept having to remind him to charge me, but dude gave me and my entire family of 4 two months for free, even after I kept a trying to pay him he would just say ‘Nah bro, you just moved here, get settled first.’ Not only is it the BEST JITS in AZ if not the entire West Coast (I’d say even North America) Jay seems to work with everyone, like he JUST wants you to do Jits and train. I have NEVER met a Gym Owner and Coach with more integrity, kindness, and generosity. He has not only changed my jits for the better, but has become a really good friend, in such a short amount of time. If you would ask me, it is a privilege and honor to train under Jay and his team."
