Smart Gym Peoria

"Smart Gym, a small gym that has everything that a commercial gym should have. I came back after a period of time and was granted the grandfather price because I was a member a year back. After praising it, why did I give it only three stars? Well, I myself was a personal trainer and always taught my clients gym etiquette. Cleaning after yourself, wiping down equipment, putting equipment back, not slamming weights, etc. The trainers here are poor when it comes to being conscientious and part of their job is just that. Another complaint for a person that enjoys working out with music is that their music is slightly gaudy and ungodly loud especially when it comes to their group exercises. Most people have headphones in when working out but even when I have them in, I can still hear it seeping through my over the ear headphones. Staff are fine. I don't have that kind relationship to judge how they work. Their bathrooms are quite gross. Like 7 out of 10 times are disgusting. I don't use them for that reason and when I do, I hover. The members are on the level of what you expect. Some people can read and some people can't. Some people have common sense and some don't. Oh yeah, there are a couple of big men body builders/wannabes that like to drop their weight so loud the place shakes and people are definitely looking at them, but that's what the body builder is aiming for. Appraisal, even if the other people are glaring in hatred not is awe. Overall, the gym is great for the price I get but I know people that came after me are paying more monthly. Keep in mind the initial initiation fee and the annual maintenance fee which can feel like a slap to the face. Trainers aren't the best but for what they're getting paid, I guess it's debatable. Music is terrible but better than some other gyms I have been to I suppose."

"Before I start this review, i was a member prior and came back to it from eos fitness. Smart gym is small but looks can be decieving. The name “Smart gym” really fits because it has everything you could ever need still fits perfectly in the gym. There usually isnt many people in the gym at one time too. Its a nice place and would strongly recommend."

"This is def the gym for people with busy schedules - 24-hour access and tons of options for classes and staff is great with flexible PT schedules. I've been coming here since 2019 and compared to EOS the staff and people are way supportive and the smaller classes help with focusing on personal goals. Very personable. I've noticed that they are also always upgrading the gym with new equipment or different workouts/playlists, etc. The front desk is always mindful of keeping the gym clean as well. I've read other reviews with annual fees/cancellation issues, but all gyms face the same issue since they all use the same billing company which is separate from the gym/brand itself. I've experienced that with EOS before. SmartGym owner has always been accommodating to his customers. Would definitely recommend stopping in and checking it out for yourself."

"Been a member of this gym for a few years and this gym has been going downhill since. The equipment is not being maintained and neither are the premises. The bathroom sink and countertop is literally about to fall off the wall, gross unclean bathroom as well. The cable machines and other machines don't ever get serviced. Go look at the cable ends of the machines, they've deteriorated past any acceptable levels. The cables should be replaced every couple years to be in working condition. What am I being charged a "maintenance" fee for if nothing is getting maintained? Going to have my lawyer friend take a look at the contract i signed, beyond ridiculous."

He gave me the tools and knowledge I needed to establish a routine and build functional strength that I need to do my job as a therapist. This place is clean, affordable, and has lots of options and tools for all levels/abilities."
