"Everything was good until I realized they aren’t nationally accredited. Paid and attended a class and I can’t even use the certification. Wish they told you this and posted it on the website… it’s a good place but I really wish they would become nationally accredited. I’d give 5 starts if they were or at least notified you that they aren’t."
"The class I took in August 2023 was fine. HOWEVER, it is now January 2024 and I received an email saying I had a refund for a cancelled class. I checked my bank and sure enough they charged me for a class in January. I’m wondering HOW they were able to do this and WHY they have my payment information saved. Very sketchy."
"More updates: don't spend your money here. The company stole the money from me. After many times to negotiate I'm now going to take legal action. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY Update: After months of fighting this I've been having issues at home and needed to reschedule my course. The next class was a little longer and cheaper. They told me that they would keep the money from the more expensive class and use it towards the cheaper longer class. I said ok. I received an email to pay them another 54 dollars and some change for a rescheduled fee. The difference between the two classes was 300 dollars. Why they can't use the difference is beyond me. This, to me, is taking advantage of people to have real-life issues and giving them a charge. For what? I'm now out of the money that I have paid since I am no longer interested in taking this course from the institution with this extra fee."
"I took the CPR class in preparation for my first child who is expected in 4 weeks. Class was good. I am concerned about the medical personnel/ students in class that we are expected to be sat with in class.. I sat next to a medical student who was obviously high on heroin and whos face was in her lap all class .She smelt like a homeless person terrible and nobody ever said anything. At her same table I see a woman who has obviously high on meth as she couldn't keep still. Neither kept up on the rhythm of the compressions for CPR. Seemed way too easy to get CPR certified and made my heart hurt thinking these people will be expected to save anyone's life. I did not need a card after, but all of them did. It truly was a terrible experience because of the drug addicts in the class who did receive their card. It left me feeling hopeless about the medical system. There should be rules about being late and attention to those behaviors during class for the sake of others in class and patients who need a sober person to help them. Make the class more serious in regards to the receiving of a card especially if they are a medical professional please. The instructor was great."
"The first aid class was useless. A student made irrelevant comments and was encouraged and the scientific names everything from sun burn to diabetes were thrown at us too fast to comprehend. There was no practical component at all. The "test" was done together...half the answers were common sense and we didn't know the other answers. Our class didn't have adequate cards. People needed them immediately so fine...Mail mine. I assumed I would get an ecard sent to me automatically; I didn't. My card didn't arrive in the mail either. After 2 weeks I requested an ecard; at that time a government shutdown looked likely and that could have affected the mail. A week later I didn't even have a message confirming my request had been received, and I emailed as well as called. I had to threaten to contact a lawyer to get the ecard. Does EMS University think we take their classes for fun? People get fired over not having proof CPR and first aid are up to date."
