"Yesterday morning at Inca Elementary at approximately 1115 hours a child at this school placed his hands around my sons throat...(Mario described it as him placing 4 fingers around the back of his neck and his thumbs at his throat, pressing down at his dumb for about 4-5 seconds.) My child was unable to speak to say he could not breath but luckily a so called lunch guy saw that my son started coughing up after this child let go ...An incident like this should never occur at a school where they promote a "Safe and secure school with strong citizenship and character building programs" as their home page reads. My child was then escorted into the nurse office where Mrs (NOT A NURSE) told him to just lay down and breath...Nurse Laura Mendoza did not once evaluate or check his neck only asked him if he wanted them to call me to be picked up. Now lets fast forward to 1:45 when i arrived at the school to pick him after school was dismissed...not due to being contacted by the school about this incident. My child was in tears because his last day of school he feared for his life. I called the school to speak to the principle only to be told that they would give the principle a message but that she was busy due to it being the last day of school. Now if any of you know me I was not having this...I drove down to this so called "safe school" At the front desk I asked to speak to the principle and wanted to know who this _____ was since my child told me he told them what happened. ______was sitting there at the front desk so I personally asked why i was not contacted after something like this had occurred to my child. ______answered "after I evaluated him and asked him if he wanted to go home it went above me to the principle" Lets back track my child told me the nurse did not look at him or evaluate him... When i asked or her full name She said" its _____ ______the only nurse at this school" Im sorry but as a nurse you are a considered a first responder and take an oath to practice your profession faithfully. NOt only did she not evaluate my child she lied to my face. When I asked the principle why i was never contacted about this matter her response was that they attempted to call me but i had the wrong number on file. which I unfortunately did but Have more then 1 emergency contact on file and my email also provided. Last friday the school called my emergency contact because mario was feeling sick and he was picked up from school....when i asked the Principle why my emergency contact was not contacted she did not respond apparantly in their eyes this is not an emergency. My child is 8yrs old weighing in at a whopping 68 pounds! Im so thankful that God was looking out for him and nothing more serious happened to him... 2 ADULTS with professions in CHILD CARE decided to neglect their duties. I'm currently awaiting a call from the Buckeye District. THIS IS NOT OKAY and I will raise awareness. READ and SHARE please"
