"I’m leaving a one star review because of my experience with Jan Call. I have attended graduate school. I have a BS in psychology with Highest Honors & she couldn’t tell me, in a one hour phone call, if my psych 101 would transfer in. She couldn’t access the transcripts I spent almost $100 paying for & getting into my application. I took pictures & emailed them to her while on the phone. This was AFTER she started the phone call with “what is your first name? What ethnicity is that? I’ve never heard that before.” She’s never heard the name “Teresa” before? There are only two Saint Theresas, Jan, and the origin is Greek, to answer your question. I’m extremely over-qualified to do a CNA program but I was willing to start at the bottom because I have been this passionate about healthcare for over 20 years. Now I realize I was making a huge mistake applying to a school whose director of the program starts the phone call by asking about the ethnicity of my first name. No Jan, I’m only HALF Mexican & if you can’t tell me in a one hour phone call if my BACHELORS DEGREE & GRADUATE WORK in psychology are good enough for psych 101 for a technical college then I think there’s clearly some discrimination happening here which is now confirmed to me by the previous poster who was a single mother also getting illegal questions."

"The Hoodfest at Dixie Tech was a blast! The campus is ultra-high tech and beautiful, and they put on a terrific annual car show."

"Leaving a 1 star review for a bad experience I had at Dixie Tech a few years ago, specifically for the nursing (LPN) program. I interviewed with the directors of the program, which at the time were two women, and during my interview one of them asked me questions about being a single mother. Questions like if I have family to tend my child while I attended the program, if I could financially afford to attend the program, etc. The other woman stopped the one asking me the questions and told her it was illegal for her to ask me those questions. After the interview I was notified I was not accepted into the program. One of my coworkers got accepted into the program which I found strange because I had a higher HESI score than her. They said I was not accepted because they didn’t think I was passionate enough about being a nurse. But I truly feel as if they discriminated me for being a single mom. Yes I know nursing school is extremely difficult. But during my interview they made it seem like because I am a single mom they didn’t believe I was capable of completing the program. No I’m not leaving a 1 star review because I didn’t get accepted. I am leaving a 1 star review because overall it just felt unprofessional and discriminative. I attended Dixie Tech in the past to obtain my CNA license and CPR certification and had a great experience. This was just my experience with the directors of the LPN program."

"I had a great tour of Dixie Tech and it’s new buildings, it was surprising to me how nice they were given their location. Their service was exceptional, the front desk was very helpful and my recruiter Dillon Hurt was great about filling me in on everything Dixie Tech has to offer. With his help I was ultimately able to decide that their welding program sounded like a great fit for me. I would highly recommend this technical college."
