"A hostile staff often leads to confrontations. Been three times. Twice saw people treated poorly by staff. Once I myself was belittled and berated by an angry woman who was very obviously trying to trigger me so that I could be "dealt with" of course I refused to be baited into anger. She did eventually get me to tears with her aggression but as I was very polite despite her aggression there was no cause to deny me service though sadly and frankly that was obviously her intent. Hate seeing authority abused. Especially since realistically even she was just trying to do a job. If poorly. Note, the gal at the desk did see and report the interaction to a superior (I was told) in their defense. There are some very friendly foodbanks in town. None capable of helping as much, but I have never seen or had a problem experience at any other foodbank in the county. May very well be worth getting less food to be treated humanely. The 7th day Adventist church is also a member of St Mary's. You won't have access to as much food but you will leave feeling enabled and empowered not beat down"
"When you cupboard is low, and not a crumb on the floor. Theirs always some food, at your local food bank. Good times at bad times."
"Some of the people walked out with more food than I did because they all know them I was new there with the food you get does not feed my family one box of macaroni cheese. How far is that gonna go one can of soup one soda one water for a family of four. And the staff there they weren’t nice at all. They need to be a little bit more friendlier."
"When to get my ticket for Thanksgiving, I truly wish I would have got the lady's name she was blonde about 55-60 years of age. I asked could I get a ticket for my brother-in-law I brought his ID his mail a bill he was at work and boy she chewed me up and down and asked me who gave me the authority to get his ticket without him standing there, I have never been so uncomfortable in my life I asked her could I do that was that possible she turned it to something that didn't need to be,"
"These guys are just simply amazing humans!! Unbelievable amount of food everyone gets. I mean, you literally get a shopping cart full, and get to shop around like a Mimi market. Way rad what you guys are doing and it is so appreciated. Thank you for your true acts of kindness!!"
