Montclair Apartments

"I moved in August 2023, it was the worst apartments you could ever imagine. I don't recommend anyone living here.The property manager is unprofessional, rude, doesn't do anything but drink and talk about certain tenants to everyone out loud. I asked John (property manager) to fix the fridge 4 times cause it kept turning off and I had to throw food away constantly. He never fixed it and said he didn't have time to fix it but I always saw him sitting in front of his apartment drinking with his son and the neighbors that lived next to him. The roaches in the apartment was like they were roommates all over. My kids would wake up in the middle of the night with roaches crawling on them. My husband would clean constantly and roaches would come out of the vents,sinks, and walls. In my kids room in the closet there was a huge gap in the wall that I told John about and he said he would get to it and again never did. The kitchen sink was leaking to the point where my husband had to buy a bucket under the sink to catch the water that was leaking and leaving puddles. The faucet was falling apart and John never fixed it just said he didn't have time again. John had favorites at the complex and he made it known. Living there I was uncomfortable they entire time I didn't want to leave cause I had a feeling John or his son would go in to my apartment and go through my personal belongs. John would stand outside and would stare at my apartment. While I moving my things out of the apartment he stared and called the supposed owner to tell her that I was moving. After I moved out I found out he was related to the owner, which was why he could do whatever he wanted and nothing could happen to him. John called the owner everytime he felt threatened but would start problems with everyone. I'm glad I don't live at the apartments anymore. I don't have someone watching me 24/7 or telling me I can't have guest over."

"absolute living hell. i would rather eat nails and glass shards than to ever step foot in this roach infested mistake. A monument to man's arrogance."

"Shady at best. Went to the office inquiring about studio or one bedroom. The gal helping, trying to help me, was two days into the job, had no knowledge which Apartments were available. Didn't know the prices, actually told me to talk to the person who is working the office the next day. This place changes management companies like air filters, every six months..."

"I do not recommend. I've been living here for almost a year. First I went to a newer apartment because they did not have two bathrooms available. As soon as I released I moved from apartment I was forced to pay again the fee of 150 dollars that was in less than two months that was living in the condominium. Okay, I paid the fee and I moved the apartment. Since then I've changed administration 3 times. But the problems continue. Since the beginning of December, lights of my children's rooms do not work. Under the sink is leaking and the sink is falling apart. The blind curtains in my living room were already broken and they have not been fixed until today. Beyond the ceiling of my suite is falling. I've asked to arrange it numerous times and no one comes to fix it. Even the bathroom door stopped working ... Because they didn't fix, just painted on top to pretend that everything is right. Aside from not being safe, I already had stolen duvet from the building's laundry and now they stole my son's bicycle that was in front of my apartment from the inside of the building. The administration does nothing about it. The pool is disgusting, full of pigeon poop and all filthy. I do not see anyone cleaning properly. And any request that is made to the administration is not fulfilled. I have already requested the breach of my contract without a fine due to all these problems and they simply want us to follow the contract, but they do not follow their part. Be careful here in the area and the condo itself is full of junkies. Look for a better place."

"Too many owners and managers for me. Never ending German roaches problem, mice and sewage problems and way too expensive to live in. The rent is too high!! Utility's, parking and Trash you have to pay on top of your over priced rent. Right on bus line, grocery store close by, 2 CVS' in the area."
