When I explained my situation, he was very clear about not wanting to accept Section 8, and he did tell me that he already had an application for the property. Also to his credit, he always answers the phone…a rarity among property managers. Anyway, I felt as though I would hate myself if I didn’t at least try, and I hoped there was a slim chance he might consider me once he saw my age (old) and my credit score. Once I saw that the property had been rented, I called and asked why I hadn’t received a copy of the credit report. He said that he’d have to get back to his computer. He then ran the credit check and posted a denial. I feel that a more honest response would have been to admit he never ran the check and then refund my money."
