About the Business

East Valley Children's Theatre

East Valley Children's Theatre, located at 4501 East Main Street in Mesa, Arizona, is a professional quality community theatre dedicated to helping children grow and develop into successful and fulfilled adults. Our institution serves children from 9 months to 18 years old and is managed by an all-volunteer Board of Directors. Our staff consists of professionals with backgrounds in education, business, and theatre.

At East Valley Children's Theatre, kids can participate in a variety of programs including classes, camps, workshops, master classes, playwriting festivals, contests, and main stage productions. We provide a forum for children to build confidence, gain self-esteem, develop character, and acquire the career and life skills needed for success in today's world.

Auditions for our upcoming production of Xanadu will be held on May 7th and 8th, with separate times for kids ages 8-11 and 12-18. Our goal is to instill a love for the arts in children and provide them with opportunities to explore their creativity and imagination.

Children's theatre offers numerous benefits such as teaching empathy, critical thinking, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. It also exposes kids to literature and storytelling concepts, helping them develop a deeper understanding of characters and motivations.

With the decline of arts education in schools, it's essential to provide artistic opportunities for children outside of the classroom. East Valley Children's Theatre helps kids discover their passion for the arts and encourages them to explore their talents and interests.

By participating in children's theatre, kids learn the value of hard work, dedication, and collaboration. Our workshops and troupes are designed to help children develop performance skills and prepare for auditions and performances.

Managed by a dedicated Board of Directors and experienced staff, East Valley Children's Theatre has become an award-winning institution that brings exceptional theatre to the East Valley community. We are a nonprofit organization, and donations are tax exempt.

Join us at Mesa Arts Center Nesbitt-Elliot Playhouse for our upcoming performances and see the magic of children's theatre come to life at East Valley Children's Theatre.

"My eleven year old daughter has had a magnificent experience with EVCT. Over the past year, or so, she has attended Audition Workshops, been cast in Main Stage productions and a Junior Main Stage production, taken camps and Master classes, and attended classes. Staff are very competent, highly enthusiastic about all aspects of theatre arts (writing, acting, dancing, stage management, directing, make up, costume design, music, choreography, set design, tech etc etc), nurturing, and there is very strong overall sense of community. My daughter has undoubtedly grown in various ways - willingness to try new experiences, confidence acting on stage in front of ~200 people at the fantastic Mesa Arts Center theatre, made good new friends, carefully managed her time, flexed her memory skills, dealt with the setback of not being cast, been a responsible and positive cast member, improved her acting, dancing, and singing skill. Thank you to all at EVCT for cultivating such a safe, welcoming, and encouraging space for children who want to try theatre! There seems to be something for every young aspiring actor at EVCT."

"My daughter's took the summer acting camp and loved every moment of it! This was our first experience with evct and we highly recommend them! Wish it wasn't 30 minutes from our house so I could sign my girls up for their fall sessions. Great place!!"
