I was simply trying to call, as a professional to get in contact with another professional, and spent over 50 minutes on hold- and that is with requesting a call back. I can only imagine how horrid it must be as a patient trying to call to connect with someone if needed."

"Sometime back I posted a critical review of MD Anderson and more specifically my oncologist Dr. Dave and my radiologist Dr. Clayton. I suffered many delays and setbacks during my cancer treatment and in my frustration, fear and anger held them accountable for things they had no control over. During a colonoscopy I had a perforated colon that resulted in a c-diff infection and delayed my chemo for 5 months. Also due to the high dose of prednisone I was taking I had five compression fractures in my back that required three kyphoplasty surgeries and multiple ablations. This caused many interruptions in my radiation therapy. It was wrong for me to blame them as they were simply trying to work around these complications and provide me with the best treatment possible. No doubt the only reason I'm walking and talking now is due to their dedication and determination to help me. There is a term known as "ghosted" this is when your friends and co-workers learn that you have cancer and they stop texting and calling you and you're basically left alone to deal with cancer. Not to make an excuse but this can have a huge effect on your emotional and psychological outlook to not have any support structure in place. I would highly recommend MD Anderson and would like to thank Dr. Dave and Dr. Clayton for all they've done for me."
