Sun-n-Sand Motel

"Stayed here as a cheap/available last-minute rest stop between a 2-day trip to Zion National Park (45-50 min drive NW from Kanab). The room was small but had everything I needed! Motel with one parking spot in front of each door. No pests or cleanliness issues! I must comment on the service; The woman at the front desk lives there and is always available. She is very approachable and friendly, and was helpful with all my questions."

"We have stayed at the Sun-n-Sand Motel seversl times. It is a very cute rustic boutique economy motel convienently located in Kanab. The rooms are nicely decorated. the beds clean and comfortable, the bathrooms spotless. The proprietress is very friendly, accommodating and willing to go out of her way to be helpful. The breakfast offering was adequate. Not the Ritz, but overall a great value and a pleasant place to stay. We will stay there again if we get back to Kanab."

"This hotel has a cool 60's vibe. It was very clean. The sheets were super soft and smelled really nice too. We arrived late, but they left an envelope with a nice hand-written note and the key inside. Breakfast was served starting at 6:30. There was fruit, oatmeal packets, and muffins (not homemade on this day, but still yummy). The Sun-n-Sand motel is conveniently located along Highway 89 in Kanab."

"Me and five of my friends stayed at the Sun n Sand motel the last week of September during a motorcycle trip. The motor court is old and has a funky vibe. The rooms are very clean and the motel was quite, had a very restful overnight stay. The place is not fancy, but very affordable and the Manager, Jiniel is hard working and very accommodating. Check in and out was easy. We met a few of the other travelers and they were all friendly. Choose this place if you want a simple and quite nights sleep without spending a bundle."

"The motel was very retro - rooms and hospitality reminded me of "Happy Days". It had the most friendly staff... I heard about the great home made muffins, and asked the owner about them.. She said she didn't always make them... but 6am next morning - there was a plate of home made blueberry muffins. Motel was in a great location in terms of recreational activities and access to North Rim of the Grand Canyon (.. well except if you are able to score a place on the rim itself). The room itself was very spacious, and the kitchenette worked out well with a small refrig and micro. I did have some issues which I wish I would I have noticed before turning in for bed... I couldn't figure out how to control the heat (thank god they had these thick comforters), and I couldn't figure out how to turn on a very loud exhaust fan in the ceiling of the room... Admittedly with the fan - the white noise put me to sleep.. Owner of motel me (and those who were hiking with me) a GREAT recommendation in terms of a place to eat.. Sun-n-Sand is definitely a place I would recommend you stay at (even if there is cheaper rooms across the street ;- )."
