"Ok this was worth the drive. My wife, son and I came up for lunch today and Amber was our server and was amazing. The atmosphere is unmatched. Best of all is the food: half the price of Sawmill Run and an amazing selection. We had to ask Amber to give us more time twice because too many things on the menu looked good and we couldn't choose. I highly recommend the chili, the turkey Reuben and the French dip."

"My wife and I came up today January 3 2024 and had lunch. Amber was our waitress and she was amazing. The food was great and the atmosphere was perfect. We sat by the fire and just enjoyed the food. The guy that was there also works at the little fudge store and was so proud to let us know he makes the fudge. So stop and get some fudge at the lifts and some food at the Iron Door. Thank you all for a wonderful time!"

"Loved it! Staff: Amber, our server, was great. Helpful, attentive, positive attitude, and fantastic at juggling so many tables. Price: The food was a little higher-priced than what a normal café-diner would be, but the quality was great. However, it obviously costs way more to keep a mountain restaurant open as it is- let alone during off season. So, considering that, the prices are reasonable. (Picture of receipt). Food: The chili was a tad spicy…but my tolerance is low. The chicken sandwich was PERFECTLY cooked. (Picture of Crash & Burn sandwich). Pie is pretty good and made to order. (Picture of Mountain Berry Peach pie). Everything on the menu was very “home style” and well-fitting for a ski resort. Wait: 50 minutes to an hour is definitely pretty long, but we expected this and drove up before we were hungry. It seems that they do not have enough staff during off-season to fill the restaurant, so an hour wait is equivalent to only about a dozen tables full. Location: The view was fantastic, as we sat out on the patio overlooking the ski resort, street, and hummingbirds argue with each other over the feeders. (Picture). Very pretty if you’re willing to sit on the outdoor patio. Overall, definitely go if you get the chance!"

"The day we went they were short on staff so wait times were slightly longer, but the service was still good! Friendly staff. We sat on the patio outside. The weather was perfect, there were multiple hummingbirds at all of the feeders on the patio, so amazing ! The chili was delicious, and so was the Crash and Burn chicken sandwich. The Claim Jumper french dip sandwich was just ok, not the best I have ever had by any means. Would recommend this place to friends and family for sure. The views there can't be beat!"

"We started with the spinach artichoke dip. It was good but I wish there was more for the price. The chips were pretty thick which isn’t my favorite. I ordered the paydirt and it was a great sandwich. I also had the German potato salad and it had really good flavor. My husband enjoyed the Garth’s Gully sandwich. I usually don’t comment on service but I was pretty disappointed. Our waitress didn’t tell us the specials. We over heard a different waiter telling his table after we ordered and we probably would have tried it if we knew about it. She never checked on how we were and didn’t refill our waters (I hardly saw her so I didn’t get a chance to stop her and ask) which would have been appreciated after a long hike."
