Kane Co. Hospital Thrift Store

"I used to enjoy going here; I would donate some things and buy a lot more things. I won't anymore. I showed up to the back door a little after 3 just yesterday (they close at 4, I made the unforgivable sin of trying to donate a little after 3) and as I walked up to the open door holding a printer, an older man shouted at me "NOPE !" I responded "oh, no printers?" And he grumpily responded "no, we don't take any printers!" And as I calmly said okay and walked away, he shouted behind my back "and our donations closed at 3 !" As if it even matters when I'm leaving anyway. It's perfectly fine for them to choose what to take and what not to take, but there is no reason to be rude. It tells people "you are bothering us; you are not welcome." From now on, if I don't know anyone personally who wants an old item of mine, I will just throw it away. When I need to buy something, I'll just order it online and avoid human interaction. People like you are the reason that a lot of people now feel this way."

"Usually only review places to leave a great, positive review as my profile will 100% reflect. But every now and then I have a truly toxic interaction and this place stands out. I have been to this store more than a few times to both donate and shop and every time I come here I am treated with disrespect by the employees who are very rude and short. I dropped clothes off that were hardly used and in great condition, and as soon as I did the women working the front took it to the back sorting area and they proceeded to talk about how “tacky” my carhartt donations were. This has happened on multiple occasions and maybe management should tell them to not do that in a section of the store that is clearly connected, maybe take it to the back or dumpster area where that kind of behavior belongs. Not going here anymore and I highly recommend avoiding the “Karen” staff. You’ll know them when you see them…no one here is welcoming."

"Unless your kids are perfectly behaved, don't bring them here...you'll thank me later. You can tell by the sign on the door they are unwelcome. There was a super grouchy lady that scolded my son and then proceeded to scold me and my 2 year old. It was extremely uncomfortable and I wouldn't come back. The silver lining is I got some good clothes for my son."

"From AZ and came on dollar day so I got everything for super cheap (everything was already well priced anyway). The store was super clean and organized. Probably one of the best thrifts I’ve been to!"

"Truly the best little thrift store ever. I’ve been so surprised by the treasures I’ve found here over the years. You might have to dig a little but there’s always something great here. Volunteers/employees are always so kind and helpful. My dad hurt his foot and needed a walker for a couple weeks, I went to buy one and they didn’t even charge me, just asked me to please bring it back when we didn’t need it anymore."
