"My daughter stayed at Newport Academy two times. Newport saved her life. Their support teams and facility are top notch and extremely professional and empathetic. I was able to put my trust in Newport to provide top quality care to my daughter and they delivered! I recommend this program to any parents feeling hopeless and in need of a resource. It’s unfortunate we don’t have more programs like Newport in New Hampshire. I love staying connected through the parent support groups a year later, they have been incredibly informative and is a place where parents and family are able to lean in on each other for support."

"Newport Academy provided an experience of care that had been lacking in previous programs my son had attended. My son received excellent care and I was reassured he was safe and making connections and gaining coping skills on his journey to improved mental health. Newport set realistic expectations in that my son’s path towards improved mental health would be a journey of ups and downs and includes the engagement, healing, and work of the whole family, not just my son. Therapy is not a one size fits all, one and done solution. There are also resources, support, and learning for the parents, too. I found the parent groups to be helpful, supportive, and validating. I am immensely grateful to Newport for the care they provided my son."

"Newport Academy is great! We weren't sure where to send our daughter with borderline personality disorder to keep her safe and where she could start healing. Sending your child away is never an easy thing, especially when you are having to give up all trust to someone else, in raising your child. Newport Academy has good therapists and a central goal to help with family healing. We felt communication was excellent and while our daughter still needs long-term care because of her diagnosis, Newport continues to support us as parents past her discharge. The parents support groups are a great way to vent and learn."

"I went here in 2022 October to December. I loved my pod, the CCs were nice (but i don’t think all of them were qualified to deal with kids who need help) and so was my family therapist. As for my therapist, the school, and the nurses not so much. I was very home sick (which was to be expected), but to the point i couldn’t do my daily call because every time i would cry. The food was quite unhealthy. But I did grow and meet many cool and awesome people. The beds are comfortable, but during the winter it is very cold in Utah so it was hard. I don’t think this so much helps for addiction to drugs, but I know it did help with self harm for a few people. Honestly they put lavender and Daisy together and many of the girls agreed that they needed to go, and reflected on what they were doing wrong (this was about 10 people if not more). The education sucks. I was going to a prestigious catholic school and had to be taken out due to being in Utah. This has now left me going to alternative schools which won’t look as good to colleges. This does annoy me very much. Honestly to get through this you just have to understand you need and want to get better. Thankfully I got discharged just in time for christmas, but being there for Thanksgiving and seeing my family on zoom really sucked. As for the RCs (the people who communicated to the parents and were “in charge” of the pods) they were pretty good. We went on cool outings and stuff. We did this meditation bowl thing and honestly that was helpful (although we had it right before the end of the day so maybe i’m biased) it helped my pod calm down and sleep. The art classes sucked and I didn’t want to do the recovery fitness thing but if you want to level up and leave you have to participate. Honestly I am partly traumatized from going but I also have changed so much in the best ways possible due to going. I think the experience will be different for everyone and not work for everyone. It worked for me and a couple other people I know. As for parents I would send your child if they were referred to needing residential treatment to Utah. But also do your research first, talk to Utah Newport, and search other residentials. I will say if you don’t see any progress take your child out by the two month mark (but wait until then it gives them time to settle and get used to the flow there)."

"When I first took a position here, I was skeptical. I moved from Texas to be here and this job seemed to have it all. From my first week of orientation til now I have been blown away by this place. Every day I walk around the pond and am so grateful for this place. I’ve never heard of a place having a whole treatment team of individuals such as a family therapist, individual therapist, and counselor for one kid. The dynamic is really extraordinary. Internally we preach rapport building and building a culture around feedback. The willingness to adapt from within is more than I’ve ever seen. Being a part of my team brings me great joy. I am thankful for Chris B, Becca, Sage, Alene, Hannah the dietician, Christan, JOE, and everyone around me. The care coordinators are dedicated and so involved and motivated to show up every day! I’ve worked at another residential and to be honest, this place blows others out of the park. Not only by the gorgeous campus, but the quality of care is top tier. It takes a village and they have just that. I’ve read other reviews and their perspective is valid. The food is not what is served at home, it is nothing like my Tex-Mex favorites, but it is good! Roger is always open to suggestions and greatly enjoys providing meals for the whole campus on a daily basis. I see the exceptional care Newport has for it’s clients with the amount of scholarships they offer, Newport wants to ensure that the return home is a long lasting one where the tools needed are there. 100,000,000 times recommend. Take what you read with a grain of salt, I know many places I love to go to but don’t write reviews for. I am over the moon happy with this location that I feel compelled to let everyone know. Thank you Newport for going above and beyond. I attached some photos from a few of my favorite experiential activities I’ve been given the opportunity to attend!"
