Cornerstone Apartments

"Renovations were poorly done and not worth the increase in rent. Within 2 months of move in, the paint crumbled off the walls at the slightest touch, the paint on my tub started peeling off in sheets, and the vinyl floor tiles were cracking and popping up in places. The walls have virtually no insulation so you can hear absolutely everything your neighbors do and they hear you, the box a/c struggles to heat or cool half the apartment causing high electric bills, and lots of insects make it into your apartment due to all the gaps around the doors, a/c, and holes in the water heating closet. They have an extremely bad boxelder bug problem, literally hundreds to thousands will cover the stairs and all door frames anytime the temp is above freezing. The unkempt bushes are infested with large spiders and wasps and can make it hard to access the mailboxes in the warmer seasons. They don't have enough dumpsters, so trash piles up quickly and there are lots of flies around that will follow you inside anytime you open the door. Maintenance is slow to respond and doesn't seem to know what they are doing at times. I had persistent leaks in my bathroom and kitchen for 5 months that they couldn't figure out until I had water exploding from the seams of my floor tiles. They finally fixed the pipes but provided no help in drying the floor, recaulking the tub/toilet, or treating the mold that had started growing on my baseboards. This lead to me developing a bad sowbug infestation that the pest control guy made no effort to address even after reporting. I ended up having to research and figure everything out for myself. And last but not least, lots of the people here are suffering from mental/drug problems or are simply criminals. They hang out in groups outside, will beg you for money and cigs, steal your packages, play with your doorknob, and complain if you get a doorbell cam. My crazy upstairs neighbor harassed me for about a month, beating on my ceiling or screaming into my windows if I so much as sneezed in my own apartment. It got to a point where they even had a bunch of their friends and family sitting in cars in front of my door, intimidating and threatening me. Management nor police provided much help so this is ultimately what led me to leave. The price is great but it really isn't worth the constant threats to your health, sanity, and safety. I'd recommend avoiding this place or any property owned by this management company if possible."

"1 star because I can't give 0. While my girlfriend lived here, there was a shooting and her vehicle was hit by 3 stray bullets. At least 2 of her neighbors abandoned or were evicted from their apartments, leaving them infested by bed bugs. We only found this out when the bed bugs started crawling through the building and she found a couple in her own apartment. Multiple neighbors had their apartments flood, sometimes management or help would not even come the same day. One neighbor reported to us having a small wasp infestation INSIDE their apartment. The apartments are poorly revamped with paint that will either fall off in the shower, or scrape of when accidentally nicked by a fingernail. When she was finally able to escape this heck hole, they still charged her rent for the month after she left despite giving them a notice. She did finally receive most of the rent back. Although they implied she would be receiving the full amount back, the reimbursement was over $100 short and they did not specify as to why."
