"I really like the store, but when a grocery store doesn't have a beer and wine selection people simply don't come in as much. People come to McCall to vacation. You gotta sell beer and wine like it or not."
"After months of avoiding this place because I felt that a local merchant was forced out due to your presence, I eventually relented and started to come in now and then. People were wonderfully polite, and they had the things we all wanted. However, this week my visit was not fun, not good at all. The person checking me out was surly, confrontational, and argumentative. He chastised me for not taking the circuitous route mapped out to avoid chaos during a busy period - even though there were only two customers in the entire store -- that's the same number of checkers standing idle at the checkout counters. He deliberately contradicted anything I said to try to appease him, and he ended by denigrating my family and the amount of time we have had property in McCall (almost 100 years). It was a very unsettling trip to the store, and I won't be back. Really ! if you want to overcome the locals who resent your presence here, tell that donkey to keep his thoughts to himself."
