"We enjoyed the minerals and the museum."
"I visited the museum in my grandfather ( Foster Rosenberry) memory. I had no idea the museum was that big and was full of History and Rocks/minerals. I got to visit with Marv who worked for my grandpa back in the mid 60's. Foster owned a collection that was sold after his passing to Mr Hempen in 1983. Mr. Hempen donated the collection years later to the museum. It was a very enjoyable time and I recommend everyone to visit the museum. I might add that when we went the museum was having an event and had vendors there for the show."
"Took our 11 yo. granddaughter who had just enjoyed gem panning @ Bluff Dwellers Cave the day before. She loved looking at all the great mineral and rock specimens and 'old people stuff' exhibits. She brought home a nice amethyst stone and a gemstone bracelet."
"Unexpectedly impressive museum on mining and minerals. Great local specimen collection and tons of history on mining and minerals in the area including a scaled mining operation upstairs. The museum also includes a unique collection of local history (with plenty of kitsch too). Staff was helpful and friendly - I'd highly recommend this museum."
"It was a great place to spend a rainy afternoon in Joplin. Lots of interesting facts about mining and just enough interactive stuff for kids. It's really three museums in one with the Minerals, the Cookie Cutter and the items/information about the tornado."
