Sovereign at Overland Park

"Tried reaching out to get information on their apartments. Got one phone call, when I was busy, and requested they text or email me the information. After multiple times of me following up with them over the course of 4 days I never got another response. It’s like you don’t even want anyone to live there. As someone who works in sales this was truly embarrassing to see. Edit: was contacted by the property Manager, Kyle, who offered his sincerest apologies for how the follow up was handled. I greatly appreciated this gesture, and would have reconsidered if I had not found another apartment already. I understand no one is perfect, but follow up is an EXTREMELY IMPORTANT part of this job. I’m sure as long as this is improved upon, this would be a great place to live."

"I have lived here for many years. I love this neighborhood and everything is so close. Mike the maintenance manager is always great and quick to help. He is always taking care of everything for me even when I can't be home, can't thank him enough!"

"I lived at The Sovereign for over 5 years and really enjoyed it. Mike, in maintenance, was so helpful. Requests were completed by next day. I hated to leave but I could no longer handle the stairs because of my back. I couldn't afford the first floor because the apartments were being renovated. Kyle was the previous manager and always reachable. New management, not so much. It is well maintained and the garages are a plus."

"Where to begin rating The Sovereign of Overland Park? The only good remark I can make is regarding the maintenance department. For the most part, they do a very nice job. Their motto is fix fix fix until you speak up and say enough! I need a new whatever that may be. That’s what management tells them to do. So now let’s talk about management, which is horrendous. The manager and district manager don’t care about their renters. I lived on the first floor for 3 1/2 years. Really enjoyed living there. Then a family moved in upstairs with a child that ran early in the morning and all day when he was home. I complained many many times. Didn’t appreciate being awakened every morning at 6:30 and weekends, often times at 5:30 in the morning. All I got was, well, they do have to work! My response was, “not on the weekends”! Management did NOTHING to help my situation. They offered me to move to a different apartment. I did nothing living on the first floor. The upstairs renters should have been made to move. We lived with that situation for one year. Yes, I certainly did complain often so management would do SOMETHING! They did NOTHING! When I got my lease renewal from the manager, 3 days later the district manager had her send a cancellation of that. My husband wrote a beautiful letter to the VP of the company, called the VP and got ignored. We were forced to leave. It was traumatic. This is NOT an apartment complex you would want to spend your money on! Find a more updated apartment who treats their renters better."

"I stayed at the Sovereign Apartments for over a year. They were so accommodating. Staff was caring and wanted the best for you. They broke down numbers and made sure everything was clear. Maintenance was fast and amazing. Regarding location, it was perfect. The area was safe and the exterior (and interior) of the apartments was well done and gorgeous. 10/10 recommend if you are looking for a new home."
