About the Business

Front Street Cellars & Inn

Front Street Cellars & Inn is a charming and historic bar and food establishment located at 430 West Front Street in Washington, Missouri. The venue exudes a timeless and romantic atmosphere, with exposed brick walls and original flooring that bear the marks of years of joyous celebrations and gatherings. The imperfections of the building only add to its charm, making it a truly quintessential destination.

Originally built in 1855 as the home and shop of tobacconist and wine merchant Bernard Wiese, the building has since housed multiple bars and restaurants, each leaving their own mark on its rich history. The rooms above the wine bar at Front Street Inn are named after some of the most notable establishments that have graced the building over the years.

Guests can enjoy a selection of fine wines, local spirits, craft beers, and artisanal cheeses and meats at Front Street Cellars, or choose to stay the night in one of the historically decorated rooms at Front Street Inn. Whether you're looking for a relaxing evening sipping wine or a cozy overnight stay in Downtown Washington with views of the Missouri River, Front Street Cellars & Inn offers a truly unique and memorable experience.

"Helpful and knowledgeable bartender. Spectacular tasting room and multiple level patio areas outside. Spent nearly 2-hours here enjoying the drinks, the views and relaxing. Street parking and public parking lots."

"I had my wedding rehearsal dinner here last fall and we couldn’t have been happier with the venue! It was the most beautiful setting inside and out on the patio at night. The lights on the patio made for such cute pictures and a great ambience for a gorgeous fall night! Our bartender for the evening was very sweet and kept our guests happy with great drinks. We brought in our own decorations and pizza with a personalized selection of drinks provided by Front Street Cellars. Our food buffet worked perfectly set up on the long wood table located in the entry hall pictured. This place made the night everything I dreamed of and I would 100% recommend to anyone needing an event space!"

"What a cute and cozy place with lots of character. The staff is engaging and friendly like a good ole pal. Great selection of wines and whiskey. Whiskey is made locally in Washington, how cool is that?!?! Can't wait to come back for live music and patio season!"

"Nice little hotel with lots of character right on the river. Cool little features in each unique room. Definitely worth staying in if you’re looking for a room in the area. Grab some of the best barbecue you’re going to find in the area practically right across the street at Sugarfire Smokehouse."
