"I love the work environment! BIG warehouse with multiple "assembly lines" where we work (somewhat "robotically") on GM windows, for the most part. Windows for cars, trucks, compact SUVs, Large SUVs (GMC "Suburban"), etc. Some positions include "priming" the edges of a window, which could be the windshield, rear window, side windows, etc. First, with a clear alcohol type solution, followed by a black (Urethane/Adhesive/Sealant?) paint. That is usually the first step for any window: priming/painting. As it goes down the line, brackets, spacers, seals, bolts/screws, foam insulation, and rubber attached to the edges of the windows that keeps air/moisture from leaking into/out of the car. Other positions include operating machines that install different types of components on certain windows. Responsibilities include quickly putting the necessary components into the machine accurately, stepping back, and then watching/waiting for the machine to permanently stick these components to the window. You then grab the finished window and carefully set it on a rack, which holds 26 windows. The goal is usually 16 racks, meaning ~400 windows total, per 8-hour day."
"The only reason I’m giving 4 stars is because I feel Carrie went above and beyond to help out. We got there early to pick up a load and one lady was rude just letting us know we were “extremely early” multiple times (like we didn’t hear her the first time). But Carrie tried her best trying to get us loaded early, but she couldn’t. While she was trying staff was just looking at her crazy, I really hope she’s getting treated with the respect she deserves. Thank you Carrie as a truck driver we thank you for how hard you tried and you being so kind to us. Thank you!"
