"I ordered a pretty big lumber order over the phone from 84 they had a lower delivery fee than the competition. I couldn't believe that they would send out lumber that looked like that! It wasn't even usable for my application, so I bought replacements at my local Lowes. I will never buy from 84 lumber again."

"Wow, this place is still open???? They have no clue what they are doing, they are mean and nasty. i THINK KANSAS CITY SHOULD CLOSE THIS HORRIBLE PLACE. PASS THE WORD, IF YOU DON'TY WANT CUSTOMER SERVICE, IF YOU DON'T WANT EDUCATED HELP, GO TO ANYWHERE ELSE. I was a contractor for 40 years and I have never seen it so bad."

"During our first visit to 84 Lumber the staff was very friendly and helpful. We ordered a custom interior door. The door was to be ready in one week, but when my husband arrived to pick up the door he noticed the door jamb was split and not flat like he requested. The staff at 84 Lumber agreed that was correct and fixed the error. When it was ready had our son to pick up the door. After seeing the door my husband realized it was standard size 81 in and not the height we had requested, he then return the door back to 84 Lumber, told them that this custom door was not the size we requested. They said custom orders are final and we can't help you. After some debate and reconsideration they decided that they would cut it down a little from the top and the bottom. The end result was that the door knob handle that had already been drilled is now well below waist level. I am not satisfied with the service I received and the only reason I gave this company a two-star rating is because during the initial visit the staff was very friendly and helpful it seemed."

"Guys who delivered were great. I made the mistake of not asking for their names! They were very patient as they tried ringing my ring doorbell and I wasn’t getting a notification, but I eventually realized they were outside! They tried their best to get the lumber as close to the job site as possible. They were really nice too and had great customer service. They waited patiently as I called my husband for answers with any questions that they had. My husband bought the lumber at the location so I’m not sure how the service was there, but I bet it was just the same. We will be using this location for all of our home improvements in the future. Thank you!"

"I wish I could say I liked this place. I wanted to try somewhere different than Home Depot to get lumber for a project. When I pulled up and tried to go inside, I noticed a sign on the door that said closed to the public. That's fine, I understand, with all the COVID precautions. So I called and tried to place an order over the phone. The representative said they needed to take my phone number and have a sales person call me back. I'm already sitting in the parking lot at this point and it took at least five minutes for a call back. When I finally got a call back the sales person said that it would take at least 20 minutes for them to bring my order out to the truck. At this point I decided to just leave and go to Home Depot, but when I tried to leave the parking lot there was a semi truck pulled in front of the exit and blocking the entire driveway. They did not seem to care that I was waiting to leave and did not move at all. At least 3 or 4 people came up and talked to the semi driver but nobody asked them to move. Finally after waiting for 20 minutes I just gave up and drove over the curb so that I could squeeze out. It was overall a bad experience and I will not be returning."
